Classic is going to take players away from modern wow, for a month or two. Due to Alliances low participation in high end content I believe it’s going to stagnate the faction.
Perhaps kill is a bad word. But it’s going to take away players for an already small player base, this will cause more people to notice how bad alliance are in high end content. This will accelerate the rate at which Alliance players faction changing to Horde.
With Mythic/High end PvP Alliance have 1 player for every 2.1-2.2 Horde players. In heroic raiding it’s not to bad, but horde still have 2000 more guilds clearing Hmode. Even in Nmode Horde still have around 2000 more guilds than Alliance.
Look at the numbers yourself on Arenamate/Warcraftlog.
classic wow is going to remove players form modern wow before it returns them
Edit: If I do something that causes you to die in 2-3 years, i’m still killing you. So I guess ‘‘Kill’’ is the right word to use when concerning Classic WoW.

Wasn’t endgame content in Classic Horde skewed because the loot tables were buggy and kept giving Shaman gear?

Wasn’t buggy, there was just one loot table. Horde could get pally gear too.
It was questionable design but entirely intended as far as I know.

it will be longer then a month or two…lmao.
I doubt the people doing high-end raiding, currently, will dip on progression raiding when Classic comes out. Most people going to Classic have probably already stopped raiding. Why would they continue at this point in current high-end prog if they’re planning to go “all-in” for Classic?

This is wishful thinking, people that raid Mythic an do High end PvP will take a break and try out classic.
An with BFA in it’s current state I feel like plenty of them are looking to take a break.
I think most of those in prog raiding will continue to at least be raid loggers. They will take breaks during the week if the non-raid content is boring to them (as would anyone without classic). But I doubt the impact to the high-end raiding community will be severely impacted.
If only horde had more players in ONLY Mythic. Normal mode & Heroic mode still have MUCH more horde players.
Do you believe Normal & Heroic players are also to invested to try out classic?
This wasnt a thing until 2.0

I think plenty of players will try out classic. But will they stop showing up on scheduled raid nights for classic? That’s questionable. Maybe they will, but assuming people who are invested in the raid scene will just stop raiding altogether in BfA on scheduled nights seems doubtful.
you do under stand all the big twitch streamers with thousands of viewers will be playing classic dont you?
soda, shroud, tim the tat ma and lirik play wow you didnt see them stream bfa launch then found out how bad it was and stopped?
they will all come back to play classic for thousands of viewers.classic wow will take off.

No, BFA took players away from modern WoW.

Actually the populations of the two factions is pretty close - the raiding population and the PvP populations are more horde side though.
From what I can tell it is mostly raiders who are attracted to classic not the people who don’t raid, so I think you got your scenerio reversed.

Cute statement. Horde is ahead only in raiding, pvp, and maybe mythic dungeons …
What else is there? You mean they’re equal when it comes to world quests or pet battles? So they are equal for things where faction is irrelevant?

If don’t you know what else there is then don’t let my statement bother you.

The streamers will do it because that’s what gets the most hits - new content. Just like when BfA first came out and all the streamers did it. That’s how it works. There’s nothing there to indicate that high end guild raiders will stop raiding on guild days.
Now I’m not saying there won’t be any. And I’m sure there are some who are just plugging along until Classic comes out, but I feel that most raiders who are doing prog raiding for their guild will suddenly stop showing up on raid nights. They may be absent the rest of the week besides their weekly maintenance of an M+, emissaries, and islands, but then they’ll be gone for the rest of the time.
Tons of people already can’t stand BfA on non-raid nights as it is. They’ll just spend that time playing Classic or whatever else it is they love. I remember back in TBC we had raid loggers who only showed up to raids and immediately logged afterward to go play Dota 2 (when it was still a part of WC3).
