Classic vs TBC duration

Classic lasted about 21 months, and by the end of it, a lot of the regulars were burned out.

I don’t see TBC lasting that long… I give it 14-16 months max. Hopefully, too… more than that for a classic expansion will be overdoing it.

TBC will see massive fall out within the next 30 days.

In original TBC people quit in huge numbers waiting for Black Temple to launch.

That’s when it took the average person 1 - 2 months to do the 60 - 70 leveling grind.

If the ques and honor gains are not fixed soon I could see a lot of the player base quitting. If the average player feels they are way behind on gear and unable to obtain even entry level pvp gear to at least stand a chance in arena they are not going to keep playing.

Much depends on other classic launch dates. We haven’t even been given a promise of one yet. Let alone a date to predict.

Yeah I can totally see tons of people quitting and playing …… uh something else instead? There’s just so many options when it comes to MMORPGs in 2021.

I’m playing Aion this week, and trying Lost Ark whenever.
Running Aion for nostalgia tbh. I game hop so no biggie.

“quit in huge numbers”
Is that why the subscription numbers just kept going up and up and up?
Because “huge numbers” of people were quitting?
lmfao

you people never think before spewing your blatant lies

This is truth. We won’t know the truth about TBC or CE popularity until the tourists wander off and do something else.

I’m figuring ~ July 15 things will start to settle down.

I played it - I was in a server first raiding guild - it happened.

You do not need BG gear to win arenas.

People who think this without even trying to queue would amount to nothing in arenas no matter the gear they have.

People in raid and dungeon gear are sitting at 1600 - 1900 right now.

u do not need to but if you meet a team that is equally good as you and that will happen eventually, wether its 1500 rating or 1800 rating or whatever rating, the team with the resi gear will win.

Or just go double BM hunter and laugh at everyone… tbc pvp is really all about that skill.

People who are serious about consistent win rates had 75k honor banked with 100 of each mark in pre patch and were capping flags in EOTS by first weekend of launch in premades.

If you don’t have a good chunk of BG gear despite 6 minute AVs at 2k per game that went on for days and the better part of a month to farm honor you have nobody but yourself to blame.

Boomers need to realize that the game should not be adjusted just because they can no longer play 8 hours a day or swipe their credit card to RMT their problems away.

The season has 3+ months left in it. The no life’s who play this game 8 - 16 hours a day will always have an advantage. No amount of resil is going to change that.

Just play the game and accept that you’re washed if you’re washed instead of trying to be something you’re not.

I didn’t. I couldn’t play. you realize your answer is literally confirming what the first guy you responded to said…

Lmao man

If ‘no changes’, then TBC Classic will last 22 months before WOTLK Classic is released. If there is actually a WOTLK Classic.

If they decide to not release a WOTLK then it will probably last forever just like Classic will.

If they do release WOTLK, it isn’t certain if TBC will be kept like Classic or if it will be overwritten with WOTLK. TBC servers are called Progression Servers by Blizz so that leaves open the possibility of not keeping individual expansions running, except for Classic.

When did I say anything to the contrary?

If you can’t be competitive due to real life - stop pretending you are competitive.

If you lose a game due to gear difference then call it what it is, take the L and hit queue again.

If you can’t handle unfair advantages due to other people being better prepared than you are - you should quit now - TBC Classic PvP will be a miserable experience for you.

The one big difference I would point out is that based on the way we played Classic these days is that we’re a lot further progressed than the original launch had players at.

In Vanilla a lot of people did not hit 60, or only did so on one toon let alone what content they actually got into. In Classic lots of people got to 60 and then some with alts and Naxx was farmed across tons of guilds. It’s not crazy to have went into TBC with 3-4 60s or a full arsenal of them. I only played half of Classic and still got 2 60s and several mid 30s whereas In TBC the veterans were leveling their mains while others were joining the game for the first time and had nothing else to do but start at level 1 (and benefit from RAF at best).

And just because we love a good boosting controversy let’s also not forget that anyone who came back or returned to TBC and wanted to play something else but didn’t want to level isn’t spending their time playing the game to get into TBC like players did in original launch. They bought a boost and immediately went to Outland. Only if they are interested in playing alts are they touching old world content.

Regardless of the raider status in TBC it definitely saw sub numbers continue to grow through WoTLK, but the way the game was played back then is vastly different to today. People (apparently) won’t even play BC or WOTLK if they can’t immediately jump into it. I can’t foresee those people leveling lots of alts.

We’re in a game where if we can’t get into the end-game ASAP the game apparently isn’t worth it to a large chunk of the population so any notion that TBCC can replicate what TBC did is pretty far fetched.

I agree basically with what you say, but people need to remember TBC is a very old game. The people who are most interested in it have already played it (the original) and most of the others have been playing versions of it for years.

And a lot of the things people don’t want changed in the Classics are now industry standards, further dating the game making it less attractive to modern players. And a lot of people liked Outland much better than old Azeroth.

Well 6 phases total
In phase 1.
We are gonna be in tbc for close to 2 years.

I will be there to. I think a lot are gonna visit it wed at launch
Aion Classic

Your guild tunnel-vision rolled over one specific type of content and said “OK, we’re done. What’s next?? Why take so long release content for us to sErVer FirST?!?!?”

Meanwhile, everyone else was playing the whole game having fun doing everything.
