Does anyone even play true classic anymore? Is there a way to see current populations of all the realms?
Yea there’s been a rather big resurgence to classic since wrath flopped
White mane is the main cluster server from what I understand
People still play. West Coast PvP cluster (Whitemane et al.) is the main event and relatively healthy.
I guess Mankrik PvE cluster is also doing well, other would do better describing its overall health.
East Coast 1 (Netherwind et al.) has a forum spokesperson who will probably chime in, the only thing I can say for certain, it has a larger active population than East Coast PvP 2.
I can speak on East coast PvP cluster 2 (Herod et al.), pretty dead, sometimes, I am the ONLY person on.
mankrik alliance on classic era is poppin
not much PvP but if you like PvE vanilla, this is where to go
u can play on either faction or either whitemane pvp or mankrik pve
Was lvling a sham on whitemane last night and got ganked in stone talon, was super fun
I might have to try leveling on whitemane again. It could be more populated now as more and more people are realizing wrath stinks.
Classic Era is alive and growing. The PvE East and PvP West clusters received a number of free transfers so they’ll likely have the largest populations. The other smaller clusters have some dedicated folks playing on them too. Noteably, the Bloodsail Buckaneers RP realm is currently experiencing a boom in popularity with characters adopting a ‘hardcore’ (death = delete) playstyle.
I’d reccomend taking your time finding the realm that best fits for you. Roll a level 1 on a number of different clusters and try chatting with the locals to get a feel for the culture each community has to offer. Good luck!
There are tons of people on Mankrik, there were 50 ppl online in my guild today, 95% of which are still leveling to 60.
I saw an ony raid form this morning, an aq40 lastnight, etc.
Oh and there is a bg tonight i forget which one
Just watched a twitch stream last night. Unfortunately it was some mage boosting people. Not exactly riveting although the techniques can be intriguing.
yes unfortunately era still has all that garbage in it, the stuff SoM fixed.
you can still enjoy era; you just have to avoid doing that stuff.
Boosting should be appreciated, not discouraged. With that said, dont freaking rely on a boost though. You can’t tell me that knocking off a few hours on a 7 day grind isn’t okay. However, if your entire experience is being boosted, you need to reconsider the genre of game you are playing.
How does one even access the classic servers? I would love to play on them and play at 60 content.
Should be a dropdown when you have classic tab open on battlenet to choose between Wrath of the Lich King Classic or just World of Warcraft Classic, the latter being the option for era realms and the remaining SoM realms.
I did find this thank you! What are these “clusters” everyone is talking about? All of my classic toons that were 60 are gone (assume they were moved to tbc/wrath)
iirc the clusters are basically the same realm type (e.g. east coast pve) all being connected with each other or something.
I’m not sure if things like the AH are connected on clusters but you can interact with all players on that cluster.
Ohhh that makes sense. I do see it now.
Are there any discords available at all for these? Or should I dig through the forums
I’m afraid my era knowledge ends here haha, I’m sure there’s some links to era discords scattered around but since I haven’t dabbled in it myself since TBC dropped by I can’t help you there. Only been spouting what I know/hear from others but glad to have helped out with what I did know! Best of luck on the rest of your search.
There’s some discord links floating around, I’d help you out if I was at my computer. But population wise, Mankrik Pve is the most populated for alliance, and Whitemane pvp is the horde go to server.
If you’re interested in a fresh server, there is a good possibility that SoM2 is right around the corner, potentially releasing in February. Don’t quote me on that though tho lol it might also be farther away.
