Classic Update - March 1

Thank you for the update, sir. See you at Blizzcon I hope. Been too long.

My guess is that he means bugs in the original game and not in the demo.

His mention of the miss/dodge/parry not happening enough was VERY evident. My rogue was blowing things up. Very different from my limited rogue experience during Vanilla where I quit the class because all I saw was miss, miss, miss, dodge, dodge, parried, etc.

Also on the warrior I tested I wasn’t able to use overpower because enemies were never dodging.

Like being able to hit non-Lazy Peon entities with the Foreman’s Blackjack, right? Right?

Thanks for the update! It gives a feeling of progress!

An observation:
This update was mostly focused on systems issues and work in progress.
It was not focused on content issues. It barely hinted at them.

Speaking for myself–although I think many would agree with me–we certainly want these system issues to be addressed. However, questions about content are equally (and perhaps more) urgent.

Release cadence? Dates and time periods less important that shape of content buckets. What will the patch sequence be?

Itemization and specs. Is 1.12 a “starting point”, or is 1.12 what will be delivered? This update makes me think there’s very little work being spent on or planned for shaping a release schedule beyond simply dropping 1.12 minus the later raids, and then opening the raids over time. Basically we’ll play through everything from the beginning with 1.12 spec and itemization in place.

Clarity on your thinking on this issue in particular is important to set expectations for what Classic will “be”.

Do you guys understand how much hype you would get if you released your dev progress like you do with overwatch? A simple 5-10 min video saying what you are working on or finished every so often would go so far in terms of build up and would keep your community feel more engaged and connected… ya know, like how connected we were in Vanilla?

I want you back Blizzard bb… also pls stop banning me(and everyone else) for arguing with the #prochanges trolls. Ill forgive you <3.

Did you know the ability of hunters to Feign Death and drink during boss fights was a bug? A bug they couldn’t figure out how to fix until BC? I am sure that’s the kind of bug he is referring to. Bugs that were in the game, but were considered by the community to just be part of the experience.

I kind of have to agree with Nutty here. None of the information in this “update” was new, and we’ve been told soon before. So while I appreciate they are willing to communicate with us, this was not an update. This was a really long way of saying

In the next post they give up, it would be nice if they would address some of the actual questions and discussions the community has. We don’t need to be reminded our memories are faulty, most of us knew that already.

No offense, but good riddance… Im sick of you guys complaining about not getting an update then complaining in response to the update. Off “this wild ride you go”. I hope you find something else to fill your time with.

But the complaining won’t be missed.

An outright lie. Until now they said nothing of the offices demo enviornment versus the demo serving environment and how it facilitated errors in values and regeneration due to not being properly synced.

Rare mob damage, and run speed of specific mobs was not addressed either, only the behaviour of Warlock pets was spoken of in a German interview. The issue with Rogue energy was known, but they have not explained what the problem was until now. And the rest of the bugs on the list are LITERALLY listed in the big compendium of bugs we created for them on reddit after the demo, and this is their first time replying and saying “Yes you are right and those have all been fixed”.

In fact, as far as I can tell the literal only retread here is the Warlock summon issue… Thats the ONLY one they have mentioned before. If nothing here is new, do me a favor and grab some links and show them to us. Show us where they specifically mentioned all this before.

Here, just to be fair Ill link the German interview as well: tinyurl . com/y56bfbb6

Ease up there fanboy.
I agree they are being a bit harsh in their tone, but the content is correct. “Yes there will be a beta” would have filled up the next month with speculation, increased subscriptions for Blizzard and generally fired up the base. I am grateful he took the time to post, but to quote a famous novel… “A little more pwease….”

Harsh. Seems I struck a nerve.

Anyway, the rub of the argument is that this post didn’t really tell us anything new. Talking about bugs reported in the demo, isn’t really new information. Even a five year could have told you they were going to look at the reports and see if there was any validity to them.

I mean it’s not like they couldn’t have addressed any of the numerous questions that have been raised since and because of the blizzcon panel. But hey if you want to be impressed with an update about demo bugs and “soon”, you do you.

Just wait till the game comes out and decide if you want to play it then. You have a lot to discuss and all of your answers will come soon enough.

Looking forward to getting that more info like release date, so i know when i can take off from work. As well as Beta to just see how things are working.

Clearly not, as people were complaining about “changes” that were accurate to Vanilla.

That’s the exact point he’s illustrating, actually.

Amazing, very hyped for classic

Also what about animations/spell effects? They were all wrong in Demo. I.E Warrior charge looking like The Flash.
