I was turning in some rep quests before it would swap to BC this week, when I realized I no longer had the Classic buff, but instead had the BC one. I then checked and only had the option to queue for BC dungeons. On the calendar, it states that Classic ends at 7am Pacific and BC starts at the same time. It was possibly like that for longer before I noticed. Please take a look at the rest of the timewalking events to make sure the schedules are more accurate on the backend.
Both Classic and BC timewalking are supposed to be active at the same time this week (the calendar event describes both in separate paragraphs when you click the event on today), so the bug here is also that Classic TW was removed at all.
That’s good to hear, I had read the early part of the description, but didn’t see the second part. I was on a roll doing some quests and hoped to keep the buff. The other bug is having BC buff early since it shouldn’t start until a minute from now.
Yeah, seems like the start times might have gotten messed up with Daylight Savings ending. Usually all their times are just defined in UTC, which is why the daily reset time moves back an hour (to 7 pacific) when DST ends and moves forward an hour (to 8 pacific) when it begins. This is the first time I’ve seen an event or multiple of them ending and beginning on a shifted hour as well. EDIT: Because events are normally set to a server time instead relative to UTC* is what I meant to say.
Yeah, I seem to recall the time change has always caused issues with other event timings, like Darkmoon Faire death metal knight and other similar things in the past. Hopefully they get everything sorted out with maintenance today.
Well, looks like it’s only BC timewalking this week, as I misread. The second paragraph is just explicitly about the raid that’s available. So, only the BRD raid from any “classic” TW is available outside that.
Ah, boo! Thank you for the update.
So does that mean if we didn’t complete the classic timewalking dungeon achievements that are listed under the event we’ve missed out? Bit of notice might have been nice.
It appears it will come back next week, and only rotates out to a different timewalking event every few weeks (as of now). Hopefully they fix the weekly reset timer, at least.
Ahh thanks. I don’t know why I’m surprised by random time gating after all this time.
