Classic + Should be Classic: Mists of Pandaria Edition

Classic + is a topic that is all the rage these days. But what if the perfect additional content to classic already exists? So many people say that classic is about the journey, not the destination. Another way this could be put is, “Slow down. Life is to be savored!” This line that our Panderan friends tell us could be Classic’s motto, which shows how great Classicified Mists of Pandaria would be for Classic. Think about it! What is the only WoW expansion that wasn’t about some edgy demons or zombies or a bunch of bro-ified orcs? What expansion has the most beautiful zones that would make it the best to play through when you’re taking your sweet time, rather than rushing to the end? Mists of Pandaria, of course!

What would Classicified Mists of Pandaria mean?

–No LFD or LFR

–No flying mounts, with minor terrain modifications made to Pandaria to allow access to anything not currently accessible without flying.

–Zones would not go past level 60. Jade Forest could be 10-19, Valley of the Four Winds 20-29, Krasarang Wilds 30-39, Kun-Lai Summit 40-49, and both Townlong Steppes and Dread Wastes as 50-60.

–Raid gear in Pandaria raids would be comparable to raid gear found in Vanilla raids at the same point of progression, but not superior.

–Monks, obviously the best class, would of course be available to play, as would Pandarens.

–Lorewalker Cho. Need I say more?

As I’m sure there will be lots of questions, let me preemptively answer them!

Q: Why Mists of Pandaria?

A: Because it’s the best WoW expansion.

Q: But I’m edgy and cannot play something with so many pandas.

A: If you played Classic originally then you are way too old to still be experiencing teen angst. Grow up already and enjoy pandas like any well-adjusted adult.

Q: You don’t understand how edgy I am. Can I at least have Death Knights?

A: No.

Q: But I’m really, really edgy. How about Demon Hunters?

A: NO, and if you keep this up, I’m going to take away Warlocks.

Q: How will the story make sense with Garrosh being the leader of the Horde in Mists, and all the other differences?

A: Story adjustments to Mists content can be made. Worst case we cut Garrosh entirely and end it at Throne of Thunder (of course still including Timeless Isle).

Q: Will the Cataclysm happen to Classic?

A: No, no one wants that.

Q: I am a foolish soul who skipped Mists of Pandaria when it was current content, and it is the greatest regret of my life. Can I finally stop hating myself if I play Classicified Mists of Pandaria?

A: Yes.

I’m sure you all see how wonderful this would be.

All I want from classic+ is non vanilla races with vanilla esque racials.

Give Horde Goblins, Maghar Orcs, Zandalari
Give alliance High elves, Draenei and Worgen I guess… idk honestly alliance races are terrible.

I want to be a goblin so bad, I want to see what goblin racials would look like with a vanilla “mindset”… just make these non vanilla races choose a starting zone be Durotar,Mulgore or Tirisfal glades.

It would honestly be wonderful if blizz did a more realistic approach to expansions instead of needing to obsolete everything previous.

Like items at end of Naxx reached 80-90 ilvl. Say they released TBC and only increased cap to 65. Greens would still only be ilvl 65-67. 65 Blues be 67-70. Low quality epics still only be ilvl 70-72. Even only have mid and end game raiding TBC reaching past Naxx levels.

It would have been made people who made it into Naxx still feel something. Same approach could have been done to all the xpacs.

honestly any form of gear progression on Classic after nax would break the game.

Nax gear itself honestly breaks the game…

Adding zones outside of Azeroth breaks the game by removing max level players from the world.

We don’t need anymore races and then you poopoo the idea of trying to expand the game with a purpose? Lol. Races don’t add anything at all.

And then you even say why adding content past Naxx at a reasonable time frame would be a good thing. The exact same reasons ZG or AQ20 ever made it to the game.

Like Kara story line is fully layed out to be played in vanilla WoW but TBC was rushed to compete with other MMOs that were releasing at the time.

That could really be the biggest reason we ever left vanilla WoW, the genre was seeing competition.

I even just rechecked the global map, we got 6 zones blizz never even finished before they released vanilla WoW, and never even addressed them during its time live.

Okay, that overdid it. Before that, I was wondering if this was a troll post; now I know it is.

Report and move on.

What would be the point then? If the power level is the same as existing raids, these are basically skins.

I mean, I’m not hating on skins - Fortnite makes a killing from them - but is that really what WoW raiders find motivating?

Dude, Panda paved the destruction for wow. TBC was and will be the greatest expansion ever. WOTLK is where it all ended. I’m good with ending it with Arthas. After that, let the kiddies enjoy the Panda care bear experience. I’ll stick to my attument.

So people who wanted to stick to Classic content wouldn’t feel compelled to raid Mists. Point would be to give people something new to do in Classic and experience an awesome expansion in a new way.

Lol are you serious?

Yeah, but “Raid for Pandaria-themed Naxx gear” doesn’t seem like much of a goal. Presumably, the dungeons would be offering gear that’s not an upgrade if you’ve done Classic dungeons, right? So if you’re already in Scholo why would you bother?

There’s no progression.

People need some sort of carrot besides new quests (and this is coming from someone who enjoyed the MoP story).

The very existence of MoP offends my existence. There could have been better ways to add monks to the classes than a bunch of silly, ridiculous talking pandas.
