Ok so I just came back to classic since 2020 and new to this new totem bar thing.
It’s giving me quite a difficult time because I have no idea how I should set it all up.
My problem is I always viewed totems as situational and thus dropped totems depending on the situation. So I am not used to having a static setup of what totems I put down. Ex: My dungeon group is has 2 warrs, healer, DK tank, 1 caster. I drop Str/ToW/Mana/WF. Simple, but wait this upcoming group of mobs has a fear and possibly a poison. Do you guys have tremor/cleansing on another totem bar setup? Or do you just have those 2 totems on the action bar? But then the upcoming boss casts a poison…but not fear. So it’s things like that that are confusing to me. How exactly are you guys utilizing the totem bars???
Both. My keybind T is tremor totem but also we get 3 different totem bars so my alt-1 is tremor/poison cleanse/ wrath of air/ totem of wrath
My alt-2 is the same but with stoneskin
My alt-3 is the same but with mana totem.
Have separate binds for poison cleanse, tremor, mana spring, healing stream, tremor. The totem bars are just convenient bases to start with, you will have to totem weave depending on the fight.
If I know the next encounter has some stuff then I highlight the totem bar or switch to one that has a tremor totem on it. Otherwise cleansing, tremor, and uhhh the slowing one? those all have keys for me and I bring them out when needed separate from 4 totems dropped at the start
I have an aoe heavy bar
Stoneclaw, magma, WoA, Mana
I don’t even bother to swap out stoneclaw in dungeons because it protects my magma totem from getting stomped (which happens a lot) .
My ST set is
Stoneskin/mana/Wrath/WoA
Then I have a 2 totem drop for mob hoping
Wrath/WoA
FYI
Macro Totem recall to your mount spell.
#show (name of mount)
/cast Totemic Recall
/cast (name of mount)
I have EB/Tremor/grounding/cleansing/HST as keybind
