Classic Shaman Gold Problems?

Leveling a shaman, and i was wondering if anyone had trouble getting their mounts.
what did you do for the level 40 mount?
I currently have skinning and am vendoring everything as guides tell me but im not sure thats enough?

Is there a good Farm tactic that shaman have? We can’t AOE like mages or farm princes like hunters and locks.

Do you have an Epic Mount?

Well you are currently a pretty low level, so the mats you’re getting aren’t great. You’ll do better farming for gold when you’re closer to your mount.

Shamans do pretty well later on with farming. You have some good cc with totems, and you can take some decent damage with shields. Between chain lightning, nova totem, and ghost wolf we do fine. On top of that Ravager can be great when farming low level dungeons at higher levels

46 with no mount, but i do ok with ghost wolf.

I’m mining/ engineering, so that doesnt help a whole lot with gold making. Once i hit 42ish, quests reward 1g+ per completion and mobs drop decent grays for vendoring.

If i did it all over again, I would grind mobs from 30 til i had mount money. You’ll get grays to vendor, profession mats (depending on the mob), greens and coin (if humanoid).

Best of luck!

The race to get 40 mnt isn’t as important for shaman because of GW, especially if you have imp GW. But if your 40 and still want it, go to stonemaul ruins in dustwallow. Everything is skinnable. Whelpings are especially lucrative.

take skinning skill all the mobs you kill sell the stack,do some dungeons and sell some boe’s on the ah.

you should get the gold easy.

Just a follow up: I was always gold starved, and I honestly can’t tell you why, but once I hit The Hinterlands that stuff just started flowing in. Keep the faith, you’ll get there.

thank you for the responses

Yeah, i didnt get my mount till 46th as well. I still am running into money problems, but thats mainly due to me being a completionist for Recipies and Patterns. I’ve got to have them all for my Cooking and Leatherworking. If not for that, I’d probably have 100g+ easily, but here i am, being stubborn. Lol

This is/was my problem. I used GW until lvl 54 but Alch/herb/cooking was 300 and I always bought all of my spells.

Most of the guides have a list of things you must have and list of others you can skip until max level.

I also respecced 4 or 5 times already.

When I did vanilla I didn’t do a single quest. I had mining/skinning. All I did to level was grind mobs mine and skin. By the time I hit 60 I had enough to buy my epic mount. Only way I did any quest was if it was needed to unlock a dung.

I try to take the last half hour or so before I log off and do some fishing. Oily Blackmouth sell for over 2 gold on my classic server, so I try to post 2-4 stacks each day. That has helped me quite a bit.
