Well it can be any class that uses magic. I took time off and returned to level alts for TBC. However, my skinning knife with 30+ SP enchanted on it that I use to use for leveling my alts is not working on my priest. My frames and character panel clearly show I have 30+ SP, however none of my schools in any magic school are receiving this benefit.
Did they change the skinning knife thing or did they alter at what level these enchants become effective at?
how are you verifying this? unequipping does not change output? SP is not super strong at low levels from what I’ve heard but have not heard of no scaling from this type of thing.
Yes of course I am. Even by calculating the damage per tick matches the simple R1 spell damage. My holy spells aren’t even benefitting from it.
The reason you use SP 30+ on a priest is because just like corruption for warlocks, SW:P gets 100% SP. So at level 4 when you get SW:P with 30+ SP you would straight up do double damage because R1 SW:P is 42 or something.
I seem to recall low level spells getting a downranking penalty.
Something like level 20 is needed for spells to get their full spell power bonus. Below that it gets proportionally reduced so a level 1 spell gets practically no bonus.
But I need something to do now, also the 30+ enchant does indeed give Damage and Healing it was a 1.12 thing that’s been addressed for quite awhile now.
Should be able to test this pretty easily at a dummy. I believe that untalented, SW:P gets an 100% SP coefficient. Its static so there’s no variance. Just try one full SW:P with and one without the knife and see what the damage variance is, if any.
Also came here to figure out whats up with this, I gave my lv 1 priest a knife with 30 SP and a staff with the 55 heal/19 spell dmg enchant, neither enchant improves ANY spell. ALL of my spells do the same damage swapping between the 2 weapons and not even using a weapon. same goes for my heals. seems like a bug?
