Classic Servers are in LA and Chicago, but which servers are where?

On live, the time zone has no bearing(and never has) on where the server is actually located. There are servers in Chicago that are running on PST. There are servers in LA running on EST and CT.

I have not found any information on where each server is located other than a bunch of people saying “the server is running EST, so it must be in chicago” which has not been the case the past 15 years.

Anyone have any idea?

I know this is not the classic support forum, but that forum is closed and the name reservation is in a few hours. None of my friends know which server to reserve names on because no one knows which server is located in LA and which server is in Chicago. This is pretty important because most of my friends are in various countries overseas and the difference between LA and chicago for them is about 100ms or more.

We have no way of accessing that information until servers are up.

I know for my realm, we all discussed it in the realm discord and decided on Herod.

Not until 3:01pm.

So once servers come up how are people supposed to check?

Try logging in at 3pm PT. You’ll need to have some extra knowledge about tracking connections and pinging stuff though.

What will that do? we can’t go in game and see latency to base the server location on that.

Or, just wait till it’s posted.

netstat -ano |findstr :3724 | findstr ESTABLISHED

turns out blizzard has changed their IPs, all 137.x.x.x ips are LA, and chicago starts with 24.
