The light died when they released the token.
Been downhill ever since. They just didn’t want to wait till after LK to release the token because they knew everyone was going to be done after Wrath or mad they released the token. Not many will be back for MoP because they just saw it in MoP Remix. I personally loved MoP but a lot of people do not. Classic will continue to barely pulse until Legion Classic.
There will be a surge, if WoW in general is even popular enough then to call it that…And then they will realize how bad Legion was early on with timegating, AP grind,etc. and classic will be done.
I do not plan supporting this project anymore. It was very mismanaged and Blizzard should be ashamed. And this back and forth, SoD is favored, SoD gets more dev time, Cata is more popular! SoD has more raiders!
The classic project as a whole is bottom of the barrel now and ya’ll are arguing over half eaten scraps. There isn’t much effort going into ANY version of classic.

Very real and true unfortunately. I prefer classic to retails bloated client. Retail is a lot of fun right now but there are still a lot of flaws. They are moving in the right direction tho. I don’t plan on sticking around for the Goblin patch or any in between stuff anymore, haven’t since Legion…
I only play retail at expansion launch (for the hype and tradition) and end. I don’t care for the treadmill anymore. Fated has been great for people like me. I get to see all the raids at the end of the expac as a challenge raiding with a guild or I can steamroll it in a pug. All raids at the same time! Why wait!
I don’t think blizzard ever intended on actually making cata good. You can tell this by the terrible release. It’s like they didn’t do anything during alpha/beta and just released with a ton of bugs. It’s been downhill ever since. The players realized this very fast, which is why 90% of the population that started has now quit. 30k player megaservers to 4k.
