Classic =/= Retail

Time has passed since the launch of Classic servers. Iterations have become manifest. We are at a point where Classic has grown into its stand alone entity.

Originally there was mention that Blizzard had no intention of allowing any of the rewards from Classic to be earned / transferred over to Retail.

With most things, as time goes on we see a change in philosophy and temperament.

Are there any current plans in the pipeline to allow these systems to merge?

Is there a hard stance that this will never be the case?

Many players play Classic in the hopes of converting those long lost sought after times / mounts to their retail collections.
Others believe that Blizzard will never allow this to happen. As it could be seen as a very long winded, unfair advantage to players that invested their time into a system that was proposed separate.

What say you, Blizzard?

I feel this is also caused because we don’t know what will come next from Classic. It would help to clarify this. Will we go to Wod after mop? How far will anniversary go? Can we expect another project like SoD or Classic+ soon? Because without further clarification it seems the other solution that has been talked (and suggested in a leaked poll I think) about would be to offer transfers to retail and that transfer without collection would be mostly worthless. While I think also that it wouldn’t make sense to let people do it based on the original statement that was made on classic.

Just to be super clear, it’s healthy that both of those systems, Classic & Retail to remain isolated from one another.

The overlaps of “Remix” events is alright, but yeah I don’t think either communities want crossover.

(short plug: WoWtoken is a retail thing and should be removed from Classic, but I digress)
