So, Rogues and Warriors could also use range weapons for ranged pulls, right? Did they need to buy a quiver, or could they just store ammunition in their regular bags?
They could store ammo in their regular bags. Just 1 stack of 200 would last you forever lol.
Okay, thanks!
Except on Shazzrah in MC.
That guy constantly AOE:d so melee basically can’t be in melee range so all melee except the tank are relegated to using their ranged weapons…which is incredibly sad and ineffective
I remember our warriors and rogues actually sitting by a campfire nearby and when asked about what they were doing they just said having a picnic or something along those lines.
This topic reminded me of one of the obscure things i missed about classic. The sound the guns make when fired! Really miss that sound.
Yes they could and not they did not need a quiver.
I’d also add that they didn’t get Auto-shoot so if you wanted to use your ranged multiple times in a row you’d have to keep hitting Shoot.
That’s funny. I seem to remember our melee doing that fight though. I think the boss mods would warn you and melee had to run out and back in.
Could be, our guild did not use any sort of boss mods when we were doing him though I don’t think they were even out yet and if they were we certainly did not know about them.
I was a healer back then so I would not know about the hardships of melee other than they tended to die a lot.
They may not have been out the first time, I can’t recall. My guild had to run through MC twice. Naxx broke our guild, so we had to run about 30 new raiders through MC, then BWL and ZG, then AQ… then TBC hit. It was a rough time…
Equip a stack of daggers in your ranged slot.
Like people said - no quiver necessary. The quiver didn’t really add any benefit except helping organize stuff better and I think showed how much ammo was left… But you didn’t need to have one, even if you were a Hunter who pretty much only used ranged weapons.
drag and drop the ammo to a bar somewhere it should show the amount you have, I think, or maybe it was a toltip macro?
Regardless you didn’t need the ammo counter on the quiver to know what your ammo count was IIRC
I think you’re right; but if you had different types of ammo then you’d have several different ammo icons on your toolbar which only cluttered it up. The quiver just made it easier to see it all combined.
Ranged pulling with a Bow/Gun is a thing in Classic. I’d say it is even challenging at points and definitely a skill you learn as a Warrior tank.
I never equipped a Quiver because it takes a bag spot. Having makes your ranged attacks a little faster. That is the main advantage.
I did know of a couple Rogues who used a Quiver because they could finish someone off more quickly with a Bow sometimes in a dicey situation in WPvP.
I think I misremembered that being taken away earlier than it was - that lasted through all of Vanilla didn’t it? For some reason I thought that was taken out earlier. 10% and 15% boost, I believe.
It could have been. I never played Hunter and couldn’t afford the loss of bag space.
Yes, quivers lasted through all of Vanilla. I can’t remember when that went away, I swapped to shaman early in TBC, so it could have been then… WOTLK… later… I dunno…
Though, Rogues and Warriors definitely used guns/bows, right? Even if not for ranged pulls, at least just for the stats?
So not true…

Thanks - but keep reading the rest of the thread first.
