Me and another friend, received a decrease in rank this past week, after doing our normal grinding in honor. We both got more honor than the prior week, got our usual 200ish HK’s in BG’s, and were #2 and #3 standing for the server. We have been doing everything the same for a while on multiple toons, and all of a sudden it doesn’t work? I am rank 5, and he is rank 10. What is happening?

200+ hks in bgs. you need at least 15hks per week to progress in ranks each week.
I want to see a screenshot of your honor page.
Ill dissect this a little more… I recieved 53k honor the week prior, then the next week I got 54k, my friend got 55k honor the week prior, then he got 56k honor the next week. along with the 200+ hks.
It’s very depending on what the other players are doing on your server. If someone was pumping the bracket and suddenly stopped it can have a major impact on the global ranking.
I’m kind of wondering if Blizzard put in double decay like they did to SOM. Cause I haven’t seen any major changes in brackets or anything like that. everything seems to be the same as usual.
It has nothing to do with the amount of honor you get each week technically, it’s all based on your bracket and standing and I really doubt you decayed at standing 3, would need to see honor tab
I understand the brackets, standings, and where a player needs to be, compared to everyone else on the server in order to rank and progress. I’ve been doing this for a long time… and even back in Vanilla too. It just raises a red flag, especially now that I have asked more people since I posted this… and some have experienced the same thing, and even missing honor and HK’s they have gotten after Tuesdays reset. The same people were in the bracket pool, and the brackets and standing were pretty much the same. I use honorspy, and the others I communicate with have honorspy too. They are from other servers combined with the one I am on, and they can see the others that I cannot. Still, all the same people in the pool. Something is broken. Thank you all for your input. Just thought I would ask in here in case I missed an update from Blizzard that they might have changed something.
Post the following info or stop whining:
- Last week rank (i.e. 5.1, 10.2, etc.)
- Last week RP (total)
- This week RP (total)
- Standing (from WOW client not any addon)
- Approximate pool size this week
The amount of RP you get per week can vary by a huge amount depending on this information. You haven’t posted enough for anyone to answer your question yet.
I’m doubting you were standing 2 or 3 with the low amount of honor you posted.
You seem very confused. You don’t need to mention HKs at all. It doesn’t matter.

200 HKS in a week bro thats not alot . There people getting 500-1million honor per week. It’s all about what rank and bracket you are in.
If you are on a small server, you may not have enough pvp’rs in the pool for the week to open up all the brackets. If there is not a bracket open for your current rank, you will drop even if you are placed number 1 for the week. Happens to me all the time. Frustrating but just how it works.
I also had 20k more honor and dropped rank. I posted my results on the Classic PVP discord. I do think Blizzard added the double decay to classic…

We really need a sub catagory for SoM at this point. The ammount of people in this thread going “I doubt you got #2 and #3 with only 54k LOL” as if Era doesnt exist and these werent era forums before SoM is astounding. Cognitive dissidence is rampant.
This has nothing to do with a code change. If your participating pvp players on your faction (you need 15 hks each week to be the in the pool) you will stop gaining rank points if your current rank happens to not have a bracket spot for the week at that rank. Last week, on a PVE Era server, there were only 5 of us in the pool. For that week, there was not a single bracket spot for rank 9 or above. So if you were rank 9 or above, even if your standing for the week was No. 1, you would lose rank points.
