Classic PvP CC duration and diminishing returns

Can anyone with some knowledge and or experience in beta tell me how CC is working inside/outside BG’s with respect to duration and diminishing returns? Is that a thing in Classic?

Can people keep getting sheeped indefinitely or does it follow diminishing returns.
Are long CCs tuned to 10secs for PvP? If so does it apply inside/outside BG’s or both.
If DR are in, then is it same scale as today 33/66/100? (15 sec reset) Are long CCs tuned to 10secs for PvP?

If there is DR then can we make a comprehensive list of abilities that fall in which category? Stuns/fear/sheep,snare/we?

Would love to know too. And would love to know if you can see an enemy player’s cast bar without addon on the beta.

Diminishing Returns exist in Classic. This was true even in Vanilla. If you watch the old World of Roguecraft videos the secret to the stunlock is Blind which lets the KS/CS DR elapse.

From what I’ve seen (not in Beta, just watching), no enemy player cast bars are not visible, nor are buffs, just like Vanilla.

1.4 added the system most of us know today (1st cast is full, 2nd is 50%, 3rd is 75%, 4th is immune). 15 seconds from the end of the last CC restarts the process.

No, they are not there by default.

Crap. Will have to use cluncky workaround

Yes DRs are absolutely a thing. The tooltips are a bit deceiving, however. I got sapped in AV and it said it was for a minute. It only lasted ~10 seconds though. Consecutive CCs last shorter with each use and you’re immune for a short duration after 3 of the same CC type.

I believe there are more CC categories or at least there used to be in actual vanilla. For example cheap shot and kidney shot were both full duration and cheap shot did not count against your kidney shot DR. But I didn’t test this myself in the beta.

Ok so looks like DR is in. And it looks like they threw in the 10 second max CC duration thing. Not a fan of that but w/e.
Now we just have to figure out which CC’s are in which categories for DR purposes and we’re set for PvP!
