Gathering professions are pretty straight forward. Old guides I found for Engineering, Leatherworking, Blacksmithing, Tailoring, and Alchemy. I don't claim credit for these but I do claim posting them here for helping people with them for when classic hits. So write down and enjoy.
1.Engineering.
Materials needed for 1-300:

Buy a Blacksmith Hammer from the Blacksmith supply vendor, it's near a Blacksmithing trainer usually.

You might even reach 40 with this recipe. You will need the 60 Rough Blasting Powder later, so keep these.

30 x [Handful of Copper Bolts] - 30 Copper Bar
You will need around 30 of these later.

Make your [Arclight Spanner] between 50-70 and keep it because you will need it later.

Make a few [Iron Grenade] if you didn't reach 260.
Engineering has the option at skill level 200 to specialize in Gnomish or Goblin Engineering. You can get the quests from your Engineering trainer. The main difference between both sides is the location of their respective teleporters and the ability of their trinkets. Some items require a specific specialization to use, while other items are crafted by one specialization but are usable by any engineer. Fortunately, most recipes that are crafted by one Specialization can be worn by both.

20 x [Unstable Trigger] - 20 Mithril Bar, 20 Mageweave Cloth, 20 Solid Blasting Powder
You will need these later.

Make [Mithril Scale Pants] if you do not want to wait for the recipe to respawn or check the Auction House and look for [Plans: Heavy Mithril Pants]

Check the Auction House, and buy [Plans: Mithril Spurs] if you can get it for a reasonable price, then make [Mithril Spurs] until 250.

IMPORTANT! I must also mention that later on you will need 20 Heavy Hide to level leatherworking, and while you farm the hides you will get a bunch of Medium Hide, Medium Leather, and Heavy Leather. And farm the Heavy Hide before you farm Heavy Leather and Medium Leather. Farming the 20 Heavy Hide can take a few hours, so don't forget to check the Auction House, sometimes you can find cheap Heavy Hide.

Below you can find an alternative way if you don't have any Heavy Hides at all, which is usually the case, since Heavy Hide has pretty low drop rate. But if for example you can get 5 Heavy Hides, you should stop making Barbaric Leggings at 195 and start making Guardian Gloves.

Lol this is how you get to 300 on retail... Mender Jessara is a nightborne added during Legion. The tailoring bandages was blizzards way to allow you to speed lvl your tailoring on retail.
