I’m stoked for TBC, but I remember when Classic was first discussed, there was discussion of a Classic Plus, where once the final vanilla patch was applied, they’d continue to give some new content. Is that still a thing?
Just curious if I should pay for the copy or not.

Don’t pay for a copy when you have enough time to make and level an alt.
Classic+ went the same way as #Changes and #NoChange…meaning flushed down the 
I don’t recall blizzard saying they would create additional content for classic.
It’s going to happen at some point. Once an appropriate level of turn over occurs they’re definitely going to release some form of classic/tbc/wotlk again.
It will work something like this tbc --> 2.5 years later wotlk --> 2.5 to 5 years later clsasic + --> 2.5 years later TBC plus —> 2.5 years later wotlk plus
They are unlikely to go into cata or beyond. But this cycle of content will keep people coming back to the game for quite some time.

It was never more than an idea passed around the community, and a very controversial one at that. They won’t mess with vanilla Classic as their policy has been #nochanges for vanilla Classic, which they have said quite literally on multiple occasions.
They’ll try to re-release cata after wrath. Mark my words…

It’s not a thing, the biggest problem with it ever existing (outside of money) is that everyone disagreed on what should be included in Classic+.
I do like the voting thing that OSRS does. Maybe one day in the distant future… but for now, it’s just not happening.
Why not? Is there a valid reason?
Classic+ was a player created idea that Blizzard never took seriously, nor even made any mention of it being a possibility. It truly was, never a thing.
Blizz will take the easy and safe route of porting old expansions + probably doing fresh servers instead of doing classic+.
Classic+ certainly has more potential, but is a much bigger investment and could flop big while fresh + old expansions = guaranteed success.

Classic wasn’t supposed to happen either.
This could be looked at as true yeah, considering the changes that did occur to classic in comparison to vanilla it kind of was a classic+ situation.
That’s not a problem for me. I’d just move all my toons to the WotLK era servers and ‘live’ happily ever after.
Especially now with the end of batching next patch.

The context of the conversation was the idea that they’ll make classic+.
