I’m seeing alot of horrible suggestions on here like adding retail graphics to classic, rebalancing classes with updated talents etc, giving horde paladins and other awful retail baby changes so im gonna make a few small changes.
Achievements * added would make the world more interesting give long term goals.
Barbershop *no reason these cant be added
Camping profession * like the skyrim camping mod, make a little campsite with the ability to logout and get rested xp in it as well as cook food.
Pet battles - non intrusive addition that adds pokemon style battles to the game, gain small amounts of exp for appropriate lvled wins.
Player housing - make it similar to eso’s system with plans, npcs, a stash to put ur loot as well as a hearth. Houses could be spread throughout the world and cost a large amount of gold. U could also build your own house with mats through a quest chain.
Revamp the holiday events to make them more interesting theyre a snoozefest right now and could use a complete revamp
Dual spec on a 6 hour cooldown takes a quest chain to complete that would roughly take 3 hours and lvl 45+
Add more weather effects like fog, storms and snow
I thought Despitebeing had a fabulous idea for C+ in another thread.
Similar to the prestige classes in the Warcraft RPG.
Dark apothecaries, infiltrators, primals, shadow hunters, wardens, warmages, etc.
Would be really cool class development.
I’m not interested at all in the items mentioned in the op save maybe the weather effects though. It’s sad because on the one hand player housing seems cool but it just takes people out of the world/public areas so the game world seems less alive.
So what you’re asking for, is that the Cooking profession should allow you to get rested XP?
Respectfully, I like the idea of more weather effects but the rest of the things on your list are features from later versions of the game, which is the opposite reason why people play Classic.
Speaking for myself, Classic+ would mean more levelling 1-60 content without changing end-game. I like SoM since it allows Blizzard to tinker with fun ideas on a non-permanent server.
It might be that they are unifamiliar with how frequently this topic comes up. Most everyone here has touted their ideas for such a thing.
In the past I’ve simply advocated for the inclusion of the content cut before release of the game in 2004 ie Azshara Crater, Gurubashi Catacombs, etc. anything not released in later expansions. As I believe that C+ shouldn’t be swiping content from retail I don’t agree that most of the proposals in the OP are a good idea.
What about hairstyles in wotlk? I don’t see why classic shouldn’t have more hairstyles.
We already had player housing with garrisons and people absolutely hung out in them more than in Ashran, but perhaps that was good thing for server load? It could have also seemed empty because it was WoD and had a big population drop.
All those features are available in other Wow products and Era doesn’t need to swipe them. The versions of the game don’t need to have the same look and feel but rather each should have their unique character.
Then the versions of the game are just going to be stale. TBC and vanilla classic are dead. WotLK is nearing the end. Cata isn’t going to be as popular. Classic+ means making something new. Classic vanilla, classic tbc, and classic wotlk can still be around. They shouldn’t have progressed but should have let people copy their character from one version to the next. They killed off TBC and vanilla by choosing to progress the servers.
There are no TBC Era servers but there is still quite a bit of interest in that expac as there are topics here on the regular asking for Blizzard to spin up a TBC Era server or two. It may not be your jam but interest is there.
Classic Era is quite lively and busy. Rumors of its demise are just that. If you are interested in C+ you must be playing or interested in Era are you not? Otherwise why advocate for additions to it?
Wrath is currently on a progression arc. That may mean Cataclysm is on deck. Should this project move on from Wrath, I’d certainly have no objection to Wrath Era servers. The original game and its first two expansions have many fans. I believe it’s fair to allow them to continue playing the unique iteration of the game they prefer.
Yeah they created a problem of not having TBC content. Private servers were popular because they were dedicated to a specific expansion. Blizzard had a chance to offer a legit experience and replace the private servers but they just gave a reason for TBC private servers to exist again by not having TBC era servers.
Private servers in general are dogmeat. That’s why people were thrilled when Blizzard announced classic WoW. There’s WotLk, and there’s classic era, but there’s no TBC.
