Arguments aside about classic+ if there ever were such a thing I don’t want to change the classes or add ability or what ever. But I feel like the hybrid tax was poorly implemented. Sure you can do everything so you shouldn’t be the best. But why does that me you get to be a healer. And what of warriors hybrid tax? Just seems like a lame excuse for bad classes
Yeah, poor warriors and their hybrid tax for being able to tank and dps… 
Warriors sucks while leveling in vanilla, so in a way it’s sort of balanced.

At the very least they would have to make serious alterations to talents and itemization to make hybrid dps viable. The easiest would be some squished down version of TBC classes, but I’d rather take a gamble at something new and update the classes through patches over the games life. It sucks being permanently on final state classes with no shake ups the entire way through vanilla/tbc/etc.
Anything can tank with that mindset.
Anyone remember how warriors tanked in classic? Through dps.

They were still just more defensive than other classes. Paladins drop like they are made of glass
This is not true. They were not the MT because of “defensive” things outside of a 30 min CD shield wall.
The reason warriors were the MTs through classic was their threat generation BECAUSE of the amount of DPS. More threat = more dps possible from your dps classes. Warriors are busted for sure but its not because of this hybrid tax.

we already had this conversation like a week ago but i still need to say something XD. the bad design is not being able to play what u want in a mmo. the players should be able to decide what they want to play at endgame not the devs. the players carry the game after all. hybrid tax is a stupid idea thats doesnt belong in a fantasy world where anything should be possible for the player to enjoy.
edit: every class/spec needs to be viable at endgame with gear sets for it. and ur argument where a hybrid should not out dps a pure dps class is silly b/c it honestly relies alot on the player skill majority of the time rather than the class. (besides a few)
As a healer in classic I disagree. Prot war has better passive talents for defense.
Idk I think the issue comes down to hybrid classes needing to many stats to be able to do things ret and prot need int for mana or they go oom way to fast. But still need strength for dps and blocking. Stam for health. It’s just a mess all around
The players can decide what they want to play. You want to be a tank priest for end game? Knock yourself out! Other players can choose to play or not play with you.

I agree the devs make the game we play it. But it just felt like a half baked attempt. Like why have the trees there if they are useless. The is zero purpose to a ret spec in classic. So why is it there. If the devs made it for a reason no one’s been able to figure it out
lololol such a bad take. not a healthy relationship to have with ur community and not the way to do it. osrs has in game polls and lets the community decide on what they want in the game and it is AMAING. osrs has 120-150k daily playuers how much does classic have?

Players can play whatever the hell they feel like playing in end game. Other players can still choose to put you in their roster or not. The game itself is not keeping you from playing a “meme” spec.

it 100% is because it was terribly designed to begin with. u are definitely lost and have 0 idea on how to improve/keep the future of classic alive.
What makes you think classic is dead? Looks alive to me, era has high pop realms and HC is going strong. In what world do you think vanilla wow is gonna die when it’s been replayed over and over again for over a decade? Meme specs have nothing to do with wows health. People raid with meme specs all the time.
