Plain and simple. What would you like in retail?
Just a pump in its general difficulty? Less casuality?
Class flavor? Meaningful choices?
More kobolds and murlocs?
Remove any additional max level grinds/systems. Focus on making gear worth the effort. Make gear memorable. Keep the world relevant without relying completely on world quests at max level.
Classic players don’t fix retail. Because then retail is no longer retail.
I mean, I’m sure some Classic folks would love for walking everywhere till level 40 to come back. The removal of flight. Mounts and Companions staying in your bag. Ammo, Attunements, etc… The absolute lack of anything to do at endgame outside of grind for mats for your weekly raid consumables. For PvP to be even more broken than it is now. Etc…etc…
But Retail is Retail. Classic is Classic. Let’s not merge the two. Let’s not attempt to merge the two.
While I do agree with Reldey, since Blizzard has been going overboard with systems and grinds, some grind is good. A system here or there is okay. But too much sours the experience. Though, even in Classic 90% of the world is hardly relevant, just like Retail.
Put the old talent trees back in and make the classes unique and fun again. I’d also like them to revisit the world they have established already. Stop adding new continents, use phasing to make old zones viable and progressive through narrative.
It seems that you are not a classic player and that you are also implying that this thread is a step to fix retail WoW.
Well, I simply wanna hear the opinion of Classic players. They won’t fix anything indeed and both games won’t be merged for sure. Mind if we listen to classic players opinions?
Removal of excessive power systems, allow all dungeons to be queued for (and have some benefit maybe some gold or resource that’s useful at 60), continue merging servers together.
Easy! Remove the Executives and hired help and return the game to its creators. Never happen, they do not even want it anymore. So, to fix it, let it eat itself up and leave a opening for a new game (company) to fill its place. That is the way of all things, what is different here?
I still play retail, but most annoying thing for me is gearing. It’s so boring and means nothing anymore. In Wrath if you have a 219 wep, and need a better one, you can run Heroic POS for 232 Tyranical Beheader. There was always a cool item you could strive for, something that you felt good about once you achieved. Now theres 6000 weapons that scale to 6 different item levels, and I never even care when I get something anymore.
Mythic + dungeons are like the worst part. First months of expansion, get fully kitted from mythic + dungeons. Next patch you have to replace the same exact trinket, from the same exact boss, in the same dungeon, with the same trinket with a new number on it. Every patch you just replace your gear with the same gear with an inflated number to keep you playing.
Compared to old expansions, get gear from normal dungeons > get gear from heroic dungeons > normal raid or bg’s > heroic raid or arena. It was clear progression and gear was all unique and fun.
Don’t mind Theon, he gets on every forum post and just tries to annoy people. Yesterday he was in the scourge event thread telling people they only died to zombies because their gear sucks and there were no bugs at all
Even though days later they released a patch fixing 100s of bugs with it
