I would bet money that it’s the same client because they want to “entice” classic players to try bfa, so they’re going to want those classic servers right there on the server list with retail servers. Especially if they’re looking toward the future and other expansion servers.

They’re using 7.3.5 for Classic. It can’t be the same client.

That’s dumb, and the whole process around actually implementing that from a developers perspective is dumb.
We already know it’s not the same client…so you’ve lost that bet.
The demo was a completely separate install. Now, could that change? No.

The wow client was moved into a _retail subdirectory, so probably a second client…

Not even remotely.
Zandalari and Kul Tirans will be playable next week. That’s probably all it is.
Will it be a new/separate button in the BattleNet launcher, or a dropdown menu like you do for Beta in the existing WoW launcher, or part of the “choose realm” thingy in the character loading screen?
I already have a button on the BNet launcher for a game that launches in December (Warcraft III Reforged) because I pre-ordered it, so it’s not too soon for them to add a non-functional launcher button if that’s what they’ll end up doing!
