Reading through suggestions/improvements on the direction of SoD, you’ll see classic/era only players shooting down any potential QoL improvement, seemingly wanting SoD to simply be yet another official classic server just with new runes and nothing more.
Was original vanilla, years of classic private servers, and then official classic re-release through blizzard not enough for you guys?
Just some things I saw that era players claim makes the game like “retail”:
-Dual Spec
I mean if you dont like Classic, there’s plenty if non-classic servers to play. Classic Era plus should stay Class Era plus. Meaning base classic with runes, new raids and pvp events. We don’t want retail in our Classic.
Were getting dual spec. They can cry all they want about it.
Nobody is asking for retail in classic.
The new runes, raids, and powerful items even just at level 25 already are throwing pure “classic” ideas out of the window. We don’t need yet another gamemode that is just classic.
Who the hell said SOD was Classic Era+? SOD is about Blizzard experimenting with new things. So keeping things Classic with runes only is dumb. They’re going to make QOL changes that later expansions brought to the game.
Thats exactly what it is though. Look at the patch you’re playing. You can deny reality all you want, doesn’t make it any less true. Crying about it doesn’t change it either.
But I’ll humor you. What exactly would you like to see changed? Cuz SoD seems pretty good to me rn.

Nobody is asking for no changes whatsoever.
The Classic Era demographic is entirely within their right to shoot down suggestions which deviate too far from Vanilla. Some people take it too far and think anything which wasn’t in vanilla must therefor be retail.
We don’t want classic era in our classic+. Especially the bad outdated systems that serve no purpose other to waste players time and hold the game back.
This isn’t vanilla, or era. This is SoD. The existence of these runes alone deviates from that.
I only play classic/vanilla.
We need a raid finder.
We need a solo queue for bgs.
We need dual spec.
Retail isn’t awful because of its qol.
Okay.
Before SoD we had SoM. This isn’t something unprecedented.
SoD only exists because Era players want to keep playing Vanilla.
They can’t add dual spec without adding it to era too.
I’m for dual spec though.
I used to be adamantly against dual spec/spec swapping but after seeing how diversified runes make classes, it makes sense for SoD. It can be implemented and turned off for era.
Heres the truth these retailers dont seem to understand. If all these quality of life changes are added to the game everyone will be bored and quit. If it keeps the feel of classic by not giving in to QoL screaming from whiners then we all keep enjoying the game. You wont even enjoy the “quality of life” changes if you got them because who cares about playing a game where your choices are meaningless? No one

lets be real there isn’t THAT much to do in classic, specifically for someone who is a retail die hard
no they wouldnt. they are currently enjoying SoD in masses without all the changes and they dont even know why. keep chiseling away at every bit of meaning within the game and watch it wash away
Same. I’ve also opened up to transmog a little bit too because I noticed in Cataclysm Classic, they’re not actually adding the original transmog system. They’re adding the retail transmog system with the collections tab.
So I’d be willing to compromise now and add some form of the original transmog system to the game, where you actually have to have the piece of equipment in your bags and use up your bank slots if you want to have a wardrobe of fashion pieces.
Quality of life changes is always a sticky subject because something you consider QOL may not be something I see as a QOL change.
For instance, 10 player raids is…ok…but ONLY 10 player raids sucks. I personally never want a phase with only 10 player raid(s) available again but we probably will be getting just that.
As for dualspec, I see no issue with it as long as we aren’t changing whenever we want, in the middle of BGs, raids, etc.
wow players in general are the problem, prob the worst community out of any Blizzard game… 90% Of it is entitled cry babies, just look at the SOD forums, insane people.
wow classic community is more toxic and insane than riot’s league community
