Classic of discovery is releasing in 11 days and there isn’t even a realm list available yet ?
Not ideal is it? surely it’s not too hard to give us some information regarding realms
I’m an oceanic player and we never got a hardcore server , so had to play on americas with 170ms - wondering if it’s gonna be the same

Hopefully on either the 21st or 28th they give us a realm list ahead of time. We got it ahead of time for season of mastery as well (can’t remember how many days in advance though) so it should be the same thing.
I’m planning on joining whatever PVE server will have the highest amount of Horde players and will be listening to hear where most Horde PVE players/guilds plan on going so I don’t wait hours/days on a server that ends up being almost 70-90%+ Alliance lol.

The first season showed the realm list 8 days before launch. And Hc was just a couple days before launch. I would guess any time after the 21st we might see them listed so I guess just keep checking.
It would be nice to know what server the streamers are playing on so I can avoid it like the plague.

lol. I picked my SoM server based on the type and timezone it would be in. I unfortunately saw that most of the streamers were going there as well! I will say though, it didn’t end up causing any issues and I only remember grayfordays (or w/e his name was) and a couple others sticking around until the hardcore achievement without dying in MC was achieved. I don’t know if any streamers really stuck around past that. And the overall population of the server wasn’t as big as the eastern timezone one and we ended up consolidating with that server too.
Not sure yet if SoD will be a bit hit or flop. Even if a lot of streamers are planning on coming to a specific server, it might end up being the same thing where they leave quickly if people aren’t interested in SoD. It’s probably just something to do until cata for them anyways.
Honestly, while it isn’t hot for pure immersion or server community, it simply makes sense at this point to basically only have
PvP-East
PvP-West
PvE-East
PvE-West
RPPVP-West
OCE-PVP
OCE-PvE
and just layer it. Even that is probably overkill…as most people will coalesce into whatever the most dominate server for their faction is within 6 months regardless. And even then, something like Warmode and only East/West/OCE servers probably still makes more sense so that we actually see both factions on servers.
If the only RP-PVP was EU or Oceania and I had to just deal with the ping, I’d still go there
Streamer servers also tend to die fastest, when the streamer themselves gets bored a week in and moves on to whatver generates more views, and all the sycophants follow them.

perhaps on wrath, but for vanilla era, whitemane was basically the only survivor.
