Thanks and I agree ElvUI is a terrible addon. I swear they just have an idea an toss it in there. Not refining it, just forgetting it and adding more and more. Like trying to find a word in a dictionary that isn’t alphabetized lol.
Did you bother to go to their Discord for help or just throw up your hands at the (necessary) complexity of it all and then come here to trash it?
Lol it’s something I deep dived into years ago. If it’s gotten better then great. But just 2-3 years ago it was a horrible mess. I came here looking for something else, and simply agreed with someone’s post that my experience with the add on was terrible. I add random addons all the time, like even today I just added Leatrix for classic, and it is refined, easy to understand, it isn’t a massive mess that you need a manual or discord help to know what you’re doing. I play way too many games and do way too many other things, plus with a terrible memory, I don’t have the time to learn a massively messy UI addon that was easy fixed by using Leatrix for what I wanted instead. ElvUI simply isn’t worth it to me. But to each their own.
So you were looking at an addon that is a FULL UI REPLACEMENT (i.e. several hundred elements, all configurable and modifiable) and you want something that operates on a DWIM* button basis to set up exactly as you want it without having to navigate the horrifically well-defined sidebar-and-tab categorization of options that will lead you to where you need to be.
And not getting that makes it a “horrible mess?”

I’m just not a fan of an (admittedly) ill-informed person trashing a very, very good UI addon out of some combination of unwillingness to apply themselves and inability to navigate a very well thought out configuration interface.
You said yourself you haven’t been in it for years and yet described it in language that means that it is currently a “horrible mess” - words have consequences, my friend. If you want to trash something, you might consider actually looking at it and making a smidgeon of an effort to understand it first.

The best sub add-on I’ve found so far for a Moveanything replacement is called Moveit.
Moveit will allow you to add in the name of the main frame or it’s children frames in game to either move them, anchor 
to another frame, scale, resize length and height of the frame, or hide.
I suggest getting the add-on frame inspect with it. It’s a more advanced frame stack to get all the frame names and children frames connect to them. That’s the best add-on replacement I’ve seen so far if you just want to dibble into the default UI frames.
