Will Classic players have to keep their mounts and pets in their bags and bank like it was back then?
I hope so ):<
the answer is probably. i donât see blizzard implementing the collections thing
They really should keep it as it was back then.
I think these decisions create a real dilemma. âTraditionalistâ would say absolutely not. On the other hand, does it take away from the purpose of the product, not really. In fact minor UI fixes could help retain players (the goal if we want longevity) without scaring away âtraditionalistsâ.
If given a vote, I would say a simplified version of todayâs collection tab but I am mostly indifferent.
Part of Vanilla was effectively using your inventory, and having a bank alt or several. It would sort of be weird to give us all the improved functions and still try to say itâs authentic.
it does. inventory space in vanilla was a very big deal.
âtraditionalistsâ are why we even have classic to begin with.
My tailor needs to sell mooncloth bags. Ixnay on the ixfays.
Not using âtraditionalistsâ as a bad term. Iâm generalizing that there are two main trains of thought and itâll be up to blizzard to figure out how to manage them. This isnât a big topic, but there may be some that turn off players (cash flow).
Thatâs what retail is for.
IMO, the type of player that would leave Classic because they have to keep their mounts and pet in the bag if Classic doesnât have a âcollections interfaceâ are NOT the types of players that will be missed.
Iâm conflicted. I genuinely think that having your mounts and pets be items in your inventory is awful. This means most people will never collect or care about multiple pets or mounts but every proposed change is a slippery slope. If we change this 1 thing why not change 1 other thing and 1 other thing and then we have some amalgamation and not vanilla.
Wrong, no one group is âtheâ reason we got Classic.
But on topic, really honestly, there isnât 1k+ companion pets or 500ish mounts in Classic, so while a tab would be nice, it really isnât needed.
I want the mechanics and gameplay of the world and classes. I donât care if the graphics are updated and the mounts reside in a mount window and not in the bags.
Iâm excited to have to worry about ammo, but donât care about pets and mounts as much. I care that the animals have different attack speeds, but donât care if they keep the whole âkeep 5 pets at a timeâ aspect.
If this makes sense.
Bag mounts certainly reduced clutter. I remember in BC when I picked up my first Netherwing drake, I ended up not liking the color, so I traded it in for another one. I still have only that one. I wish I could delete most of my duplicate model mounts and pets.
