I cannot for the life of me remember when Blizz changed the mailing system. Was it before BC? I don’t think so but I’m sure someone remembers when:

Yes the HS is 1 hour.
Alt mailing will still have the wait time.
Not sure about the item limit.
I believe that all mail, I’m using mail between characters on the same account, will be subject to the one hour delay in Classic.
In Vanilla, add-ons allowed mailing of more than one item at a time. I may be wrong, but I believe this will be baseline in Classic.
I believe that the hearthstone had a one hour cool down in Vanilla.
Blizz changed mailing I believe in wotlk and cata.
All mail recipients had to wait one hour between sending and receiving mail.
Single item mailing didn’t change till wrath if memory serves me correctly.
HS was a one hour cooldown and did not change till cata when guild perks came into play.
Pretty sure we’ll have to wait 1 hour for anything sent with items.
Definitely after Vanilla, but we’re likely going to get that in Live anyway, as well as the Open All button.

When items or gold are attached. Text only messages are instant.
Unless they have updated something recently Blizzard said it would not he changed to reflect how it worked in Vanilla because it just wasn’t that big of a deal.
The only thing that seems to be changing with mail is that we can mail multiple items at once. As far as I can tell it will still take an hour to receive items. This means its faster to actually go meet the person you need the items from.

And it makes sense, someone would probably just make an addon again for this anyway.
Isn’t gold alone instant? Could’ve sworn it was. Oh well doesn’t really matter either way.
Why not give us outfitter, or internal DBM, or any of the other million things people will make addons for…
Dont get me wrong… I like modern mailing; I would love outfitter…

It’s not a gameplay change so it’s not a big deal.
One could argue that outfitter is not a game play change…
Though I will use it in PvP game play…
But with no outfitter I will just use macros with the modern macro system that is in Classic… sooooo… another #change… altering game play…

When you said “someone would make an addon for it anyhow” I used the fact that people WILL make LOTS of addons… for things that are not going to be in Classic… I gave and example…
What exactly does Outfitter do? I never used it.
One button gear swaps… it was an add on in Vanilla and stolen by Blizzard some time after.
