I have noticed that in Deadmines instance group, a rogue loot the ring and no one got to roll on it? I have noticed sometimes I got a stack of cotton? and another time none?
I was in a Gnome instance group and I seen a player loot green gloves without it being rolled on by group? I was also looting a gray shield, seen it in my loot window, but never made it into my bag?
I was in a Mara group and the ring got looted and the other item from last boss got rolled on?
I was in an Ulda group last night, And bingo you guessed it. the ring was not rolled on by all the members of the group.
What gives Blizzard!!!

the ring last night, I already had it, but the others were not. I wanted the ring to drop from mara, missed the last 3 rolls on it, that group was never able to roll on it. that made 4 failed attempts.
As for the ring last night, its just unique equip. not roll. not 1 item per bag. I should of still been able to roll on it.
as an enchanter how else can I get loot to disenchant? if everyone rolls greed? And I cant even roll on it?
The only way you aren’t able to roll on an item in a group is if it’s unique and you have the item already (in bank counts too), you weren’t close enough to the mob or chest the item came from when the mob died or the chest was opened, or the loot is on master looter and the threshold is set to rare giving you the illusion the loot is set to group loot when you can roll on greens but when a blue or higher drops there is no roll because the Master Looter has to give that particular loot out. As far as the grey shield not going into your inventory a few things could have happened - One being it was “your mob” to loot whilst in the group and you went to loot it and your bags were full, therefore allowing it to be picked up by anyone. Two being you clicked on the body already but didnt actually loot the item (unsure if you use auto loot or not/maybe misclicked) therefore again allowing anyone else in the group access to it because that’s how it works with white and grey quality items.

Again, I still don’t have the Mara ring!!! how many times do I got to say it!!!
They gray item was in my loot window, I have auto loot. It never made it to my bag. My bags were empty, I wasn’t doing dungeon for xp. I was there to get gold to buy training.
Sounds like master looter or the ring is in your bag/bank. Next mara run you do make sure it’s with different people and right click your portait and see that loot is set to group. Other than that there is absolutely no reason you would be unable to roll on a piece of loot if loot is set to group loot. Sounds like the shield thing could have been you maybe hitting shift as you clicked to loot? (prevents auto loot by default) or someone else had a full inventory and it was their body to loot but didnt actually take the shield for whatever reason, therefore opening it up to anyone in the group. Someone perhaps looted it at the same time as you but got to it first - i’ve seen grey and white items disappear from my loot window before given those circumstances. After someone passes up a grey or white it just becomes FFA to the group and the first person to it gets it.

I always make sure its group loot before I even begin. This has been happening to often for me not to check before I group up. I have noticed that when I was in a group. I looted 3 corpses at start. I check loot setting, group and green. I asked if this was a ninja loot party. bingo. last item wasn’t rolled on.
And yes no one ever looted it. I got the silver in loot window on all 3
I checked loot setting , me and another guy did fine, everything got looted right, it was when the group leader got close that the loot got funny.
They can change the loot settings last second and during combat in a 5 man.
My advice would be if it happens again and no funny business regarding master loot has occured, screenshot the loot going out and open a ticket and request assistance regarding this matter.
Pay attention right off if nothing is being rolled on leader may have master loot on run from greedy player
The above answers are essentially your options here. If the person who magically got a pre-BIS/good item without rolling is coincidentally the party leader, you may want to check your chat log to see where loot type was changed – it probably was.
Add them to ignore list if so you don’t group again
I would recommend using the addon Global Ignore List. Not only does it maintain your ignore list cross-character, but it notifies you if you group with someone who is on your ignore list.

The one other way to get a green item without a roll is to spot and open a chest without anyone else noticing. (Usually if groups notice, there’s a manual roll-off.) Rogues can lockpick the chests that show as locked, so it’s more common with them, but unlocked chests are relatively common.
Since my ignore list was full from people in chat, I had to delete them all and compile a new ignore list. For loot ninjas just like what has been happening.
