I was initially absolutely against this addon for the same reasons that many others have stated. The other day I was getting tired of questing so I decided to find a group, I wasn’t having much luck so I decided the addon was what I would try.
After using it I think that an “LFG” is really not what this addon is. It is just a GUI for the LFG channel. You still have to whisper people and talk to them to get invited or to invite others it just visibly arranges the spam that is occurring in the General/LFG chat.
I’m not against it any longer. I suggest giving it a go and seeing what you think about it.

I think if you restrict it to using it in capital cities, that’d be fine.
Right now trade chat in capital cities is cluttered with LFG/LFM anyways.

You will spam general chat with LFM and you will LIKE it. Or go check out Retail.

The addon is not needed. You can talk to people in game and group up easily. Stop having to have your hand held for everything, and put on your big boy pants.

I installed it to see the features. Actually kinda buggy still. If you set it for a specific instance it almost always fails but if you select ALL it will list that particular one if it’s being advertised.
All this does is show people typing LFM. You must still whisper them and join/run to instance.
I see nothing whatsoever with it now compared to autoforming groups.

Why dont people just use LFG chat? As a DPS unless im playing at like 2-4am I have no problem finding a group.
Go to a city and join the LFG chat. You will see hundreds of people looking and making groups within 10 minutes.

To the OP yes, currently LFG is such utter spam I can’t track it. Having a filter would be ideal. A filter I could filter for Scarlet Monestary Healer Cathedral and only those LFG messages appear where I can whisper the offerer.
The naysayers have a history of saying nay.

Because it is so much spam it can’t be filtered. You have to try and catch key words. You obviously don’t play on a full pop server.

Or join /LookingForGroup, which is official and worldwide.
yeah thats what I meant, just saying if you are in a city you will have 2 different chats that are always looking for people.
