We have now transferred 3 times since the game launched. Blizzard asked us to move, and we did. Only to end up on another server that filled up, and when we left our last server I would estimate it is 80/20 horde. Server transfers and not providing layer free servers for the community have destroyed the launch.
During all of this friends have been separated, and our guild has lost over 200 people who could not get on our servers do to queue times.
Now people are starting to quit the game, and the blame is squarely on ActiBlizzard, they screwed this launch up and continue to make mistakes at every turn.
This will be my last move. I’m about done now, but we still have a good group to play with, and I subbed for 6 months. If the server we are on now gets imbalanced or full, I’m out.
You can’t blame Blizz for what was obviously going to be a messy launch. The realm situation had no easy answers, and they gave a good bit of warning with overpopulated realms as it happened.
however there were much better answers, they picked a really bad one. not even out of the woods yet. today i got up at 7am and my low in the morning pop realm still had at least 2 layers, this launch a joke.
The simple fact is that blizz needs people to leave before P2, they arent adding more servers, they will keep transfers from full realms open, but they need players like you and your 200 bros to leave the game to make it so they can move forward, this is just how they treat classic, they want a very specific amount of players so they can only put in a minimum amount of effort for max profits.
Before P2 can happen, blizz either has to open up way more servers, or push players like you out of classic, since P2 and beyond cannot support this many players.
Is this really still a problem? I started playing about 1.5 weeks after launch and have never once had queues longer than 5 minutes. If those you’re playing with lack patience/impulse control and dart off onto different servers as soon as there’s a queue, then that will obviously bring problems.
