I got a Glowing Brightwood Staff (world drop BoE, check wowhead).
I’ve seen it sell for anywhere from 200-1200g depending on the server.
I’m wondering what is a fair price to charge for this regardless of the current progression of the server.
It seems like it will be useful until AQ which is at least phase 5. I’m not bothered by holding onto it until people actually have the money to afford what it is worth, but is it actually worth much is the real question.
fair price and what you will get are totally different. honestly, no one can probably afford what it’s inherent value is.
In vanilla they went for about 800g on my server. As of the last time I checked booty bay gazette, they were about 250. That staff is my white whale, so if you really wanted to just mail it to me if you’re on Pagle, I’d take it.
Just checked BBG again. There’s 2 on the AH and they’re 75g…

Yea, that’s what I figured. Noone can affords what it’s worth right now, but it IS worth a lot regardless of what it is selling for which is probably due to people either not knowing how much it’s really worth or not caring because they know the money isn’t really on the server atm and they just need cash.
I got all excited last night for snagging a nice BOE out of a chest. was thinking! MOUNT MONEY! looked on ah, selling price 2g drat. might as well give it to an alt.
The market right now is in its infancy. Even though bag space is precious, I’d hold on to that for a spell until things stabilize and people have more gold on hand to spend.
99% of the players are not even LvL 60 and they are struggling to get their first mount or saving to get that 1,000 gold mount.
Simply put, the more you wait, the more LvL 60s with gold, the more stuff will sell at good gold prices.
Its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Just curious, where did it drop for you. Part of my classic goal is to farm that staff for my own personal use. In vanilla, I never got a single epic world drop. I’m gonna try to get this one.
Going for 85g on my server. With 0 spellpower or healing I don’t know why anyone would shell out for this item… am I missing something?
I have one put it on the ah 3 times for 60 gold and no one ever bought it. I just put it in my bank for now
I would definitely save it until later phases. BIS for feral druids looking to tank and will go for well over 200g once the economy has stabilized.
Dropped off Felwood mobs. I think it was either the Satyr or the Deadwood furlbogs. I usually get a single epic boe during my vanilla leveling experience, but usually a crappy one with earlier levels/stats.
What’s so special about this staff? I mean, sure… the int is nice… but I’d think long and hard about replacing even my level 34 hypnotic blade and off hand with this staff. There’s no spell damage on it, which makes it rather lackluster, at least from a mage perspective.
The Warden Staff is BiS for a Bear Tank.
Its only worth what people are willing to pay for it.
I know some people that bought up Twink items and plan to hold on to them until they will sell for significantly more gold then they paid.
How do you tell how much an item sold for?
There are addons that people are using that show the average market value of items on the auction house and items that have sold on the auction house. These addons then communicate that data together to create an average across all servers.
