Classic + is the only way, doing TBC and onward would be horrible!

Again… complete and total supposition by you based on your biased opinion… you will not even stop and think of the people that Blizz wont retain who are ready to move on to BC after Naxx is out for a bit…

The thought can not even enter your mind that it is very easy to understand they could lose as many if not more if they do not give people the chance to continue to progress their game… you sit in your half baked classic only world and pretend there are not tons of people who actually want BC…

Then you decry it by saying they are going down the retail path… meanwhile in the real world… if you could let a new thought enter your brain you would see that Classic is already on the path of retail… its 1.12… it was already too late to stop the “retail path” the moment Classic launched…

Come on man… stop with the partisan talking points and realize what the deal is here…

As i said earlier in this thread, if retail people want to petition for tbc servers, then great…

but, what it boils down to is how and best cater to the classic subs, and no i dont think i overplay my hand, i probably underplay it, you saw the massive resistance to LFG on these very forums just a few weeks ago, its retail features most classic players want nothing to do with, then add flying, heritage sets, dailies, the big reset, classes being made the same… and you still think i over play my hand when it comes to classic people and what they want ?

No sorry, i dont, i can tell you right now, if tbc is anouced at the expense of resources put in motion for classic, blizz will see a massive loss of subs… its not about that retail cant have tbc, its about the path and what best for classic

You are wrong. There was no LFG in TBC. TBC is literally classic with flying in outland and more balanced classes/factions. You underestimate your chances. Blizzard will lose some classic die-hards, but if implemented normally it would gain thousands if not more BELF players.

I literally just gave you the path forward for classic. If you truly think that WoW devs can push Classic + without reusing assets from other expansions you are nuts. There is room for maybe two or three content patches adding raids to the existing world. Without incorporating retail story elements we are left with the least appealing storylines in WoW. After all there is a reason the storyline progressed as it did.

You didn’t address any of my points for Classic +. If you continue detracting TBC by talking about features that weren’t introduced until Wrath you will likely fail to convince anyone of anything. Classic subs will only increase if you announce Classic will expand into TBC. Of course if they make them separate realms than Classic will lose players, in droves. You do not understand that TBC is what grew WoW exponentially. Balanced factions. Arena. Belfs, goats. The people we lost who hated fantasy in space were far fewer than the people gained.

Maybe you should start focusing on how to implement TBC in a manner that is consistent with your gameplay hopes rather than hating on the most beloved expac for a large portion of the player base. Many of us consider TBC to be the real WoW. Its zenith. When things were mostly balanced and heroic dungeons were really challenging but gratifying to fulfill. The Isle catch up and badge gear is easy to strip out of the game. Limiting flying is easy to do. Keeping content relavant by making it on par level wise to end game classic is also easy to do as the devs already have experience in modifying zone level ranges.

People who talk about problems without solutions are worthless. Classic has a problem. Vanilla made it 3 years before TBC. Classic will likely start losing people after two at most. The best way to do this is to add in an alternative progression metric that does not invalidate the current endgame zones but compliments them. Additional raid tiers without catchup mechanics only expand content as you will never not need to run something.

All i know is, I am out if the game simply moves us to unmodified Burning and Wrath servers

The flying has to go

Wrath is a bad Idea all together. It requires long term flight for some zones, the group finders were added and raid invalidating catch up mechanics introduced. IF classic + goes forward it needs to find a way to incorporate assests without changing classic mechanics. I can see this working with outland as flying is only necessary to access a few areas that can all be reached in flight time of less than a minute. I do not see it working with wrath. Plus people have this weird view of Wrath like it was better than it was just because we dealt with arthas. I think we need to avoid northrend like the plague.

They are actually worse than worthless… but 99% of the people here… it is all they do… complain about something that simply will not or does not effect them at all… then try and say on one else can enjoy that thing because everyone agrees with them…

It is quite hilarious!

Again, you under estimate the features that come with going down the retail path… lfg, flying, dialies, making classes same, the big reset, horde paladins, alliance shamans, heritage sets… any of these features, will create exactly the same responce we have with LFG, you underestimate the reistance among the classic comunity…

and yes tbc will be great for retail people… but we that petioned for classic, have seen where the road down tbc goes, and no thanks…

it was enough seeing these forums, and the massive resistance to lfg…

LFG is not in BC… talk about using false equivalences to try and prove a lie…

if you dont think classic backers will be against these features, i dont know what to say… there will be a massive resistance agaisnt these features and you know it…

oh look classic population you can all go down the retail path again, of wait dident we petition for classic ?.. so we dident have to have that crap ?!?

Are your really this obtuse?
No one is asking you to play BC… no one is even suggesting we take the classic servers and move them into BC… we are talking about a completely separate game… BC servers.

Again you keep railing and whining about something that in no way will effect you or your classic only servers.
I wonder why that is?
It sure seems that after about 50 posts on this and reading through them… you seem very frightened of two things:
That BC is coming.
It will utterly destroy your supposed “classic only” crowd because tons of people will flock there.

I get if… fear does things to otherwise normal people… but fighting like this seems more like delusion than having any real hope.

As iwe said several times, if you want tbc servers, go and petition blizzard for your tbc servers… then blizzard can take their resoruces from retail to give you those tbc retail servers… you call me obtuse, for defending whats best for classic and what if any route classic should take, yet you are on the classic forum asking for tbc ?!?, reality check ?

And i can tell you right now, in the eyes of the classic comnunity, adding content like the unfinished Karashan as a classic + and other dungerons like that, would have a much greater apeal to the classic comunity then tbc… so no you will not destroy the classic comunity, the mere notion that people play classic, a 15 year old game, and this many… no you will not destroy classic

During the years there been alot of very very succesfull private classic servers, one of the very reasons we have classic, and people dident petition for tbc, they petitioned for classic !..

You keep flapping your gums like you represent all of the classic community… I am part of the community… wanted this from day one… have not logged into retail since launch…

And guess what sweet cheeks… you do NOT speak for me or anyone else in the classic group…

“In the eyes of the classic community”

Give me a break… have you not noticed you are the only one screeching at the sky about this? and you just continue and continue… think I am done here… people that feel they are empowered to speak for hundreds of thousands of people playing are hilarious… and a bit sick in the head.

To all of your proposed garbage you just spewed as to what you think needs to be done to “fix” TBC I say…

NO

Classic wasn’t altered in this fashion, so why would they change the expansions??? If you don’t like them then stay on Classic, but don’t be an @sshat and try to change history with your ridiculous rewrites and notions about what YOU think should be done to it.

#NOCHANGES

The expansions WILL be released UNABRIDGED and UNALTERED or there will be a massive amount of raging on the forums and unsubbing immediately thereafter. Blizzard will keep the Classic philosophy going forward or pay for it through the nose in lost subs like it was post Cataclysm

Since it’s wall: I still support releasing ‘Legacy Realms’ for each expansion; yes even WoD. We all have our favorites, and instancing realms is so much easier nowadays. No reason to reallocate some of the low-pop Retail Realm instances to run older expansions.

If they do a Classic+ then they need to do a few things:

Revamp Paladin and Shaman to have an actual ‘tank role’ tree. Nothing major.

((I’ve stated in another thread, but I’ll say my idea again. Because…why not.))

Paladin: Righteous Fury now causes Judgement to taunt
Shaman: Rockbiter now causes Earth Shock to taunt
((All taunts are ‘base’, so it’d be silly to make a ‘taunt talent’; means you couldn’t even taunt until at least lvl 10.))

((While taunt isn’t mandatory, it’s still nice to have in case things go sideways.))

Then balance their tanking around Auras (Paladins) and Totems (Shamans). I’d also make changes to the Paladin’s “you need to be critted for this to work” talents. Tanks shouldn’t be getting crit. PERIOD.

((I think the main reason Blizzard abandoned ‘Shaman Tank’ was because they couldn’t nail down how to mitigate the higher damaged due lacking Plate. So, because Shaman’s couldn’t tank to their liking. They also abandoned ‘Paladin Tank’. - Didn’t want one faction to have more ‘tank classes’ than the other.))

///

I’d want to see them remaster the textures. Not the new ones that look more “cartoony”. Just reference the ‘originals’, and give them higher polygons and better shader support (some of the human faces look like dirt is smudged on their faces during character creation).

Definitely want to see remastered items. Keep the same aesthetics, but those textures…dear lord are they terrible atm; they lack the crispness of Retail’s item textures.

I’d also like to see them bring out new zones, but only those already on the map, examples: Hyjal, Ghostlands, SMC area, that area that became Twilight Highlands, Those two islands in between Kal and EK.

I do not want them to make balance changes that go beyond ‘qol’ changes. Examples of changes I don’t want would be changes that remove ‘spike damage’. Or changes that homogenize classes.

((Paladins should be ‘block kings’, Warriors should be ‘well-rounded’, while Druids should be ‘armor kings’. However, each can tank every single fight; just in a different way.))

If it were me, and I had a product that had the potential to reach 8 million+ people that was doing well, and could release another product with the potential to reach 12 million+ people, I know which route looks better.

Especially if the alternative is to spend huge sums of money to reach less than half of the original 8 million.

Yes bear form has a boost to armor, but Druids rely on more than just that. High agility boosts not only their chance to crit, but it gives a slight armor boost and increases their chance to dodge. Dodge comes into play much more effectively in terms of damage mitigation than armor. Not getting hit in the first place trumps the flat dmg reduction from armor.

Your comment regarding druid tanking leads me to believe you have never tanked as one
