Sure, and plenty to know that what Nost’s “team” presented was just an update on how they cribbed and cobbled together a Vanilla server, mostly to see if anything unique was hidden under all the half-baked emulation. But nothing Nost’s “team” presented was necessary to get Classic up and running, or to even get Blizzard interested in it in the first place.
Which is the IP owner’s right, did you think this was a gotcha of some sort?
Yeah cause Activision doing real great on their anti-cheat.
They can do what they want but they couldn’t ignore the money they are losing out on. I can’t post the stats link on nostalrius alone but you would be blind not to recognize it.
Hey lets see how activision did on their naxx trailer and then look at a private server guys trailer.
ITT: we pretend that Blizzard just finally decided "Y’know what would be an awesome way to celebrate the 15th birthday of World of WarCraft? Classic servers that are the original Level 1-60 content!" all on their own, and that’s how Classic was spawned.
I’m saying that Blizzard is doing significantly better than what occurred on theft servers, so the comparison is pointless. I’m not making judgments on Classic as is, simply that Nost deserves zero credit.
You’re making a non-sequitur argument that doesn’t actually support credit to Nost. That money was on the table was always known, but just how much money was an open question, as Classic wasn’t simply generated for free. With the present massive success of remakes and remasters in the market, it would have made logical sense, with or without Nost or any other theft server to make WoW Classic.
We got WCIII and SC remakes without even an inkling of the social media buzz surrounding theft servers. Use your head.
This was sarcasm sweetie.
No one is saying that, but by all means keep being silly.
Stick to your original argument that Nost is responsible for Classic OR
Stick with arguing Blizz did the remake thing all wrong on their own
Responding to my saying “Blizz did this well within their own volition and in-line with the industry” with “OH YEAH WELL THEY SUCKED AT IT” is a complete non-sequitur.
Because whether it is true or not is not relevant to the point at hand: whether Nost deserves any credit.
Mark Kern didn’t do it by himself all he did was present the petition. He left blizzard in 2006. I’ve listed examples and information on this topic and you choose to ignore them.
That’s rich coming from someone that can’t decide whether they want to just attack Blizzard directly for being bad at remaking games on their own or to attack Blizzard for ‘stealing’ the idea from the morons over at Nost.
No one cares about the theft servers. They did nothing more than profit off lazy IP protection for their own personal gain, but lazy IP protection or not, at the end of the day they were little more than thieves. They deserve no credit.
Hrmm, I didn’t pay a dime to play on private servers. It’s clear though you can only say one thing and you will never think otherwise. I hope you can think more open-minded on other subjects. Good day.
This is 12 years English education in America. Plus it’s clear you hate private server with a passion. Why the hate I do not know. You can insult me but I think it just shows what kind of person you are.
