What do you expect from an old school game like this? Stuff takes time. And WoW was considered the casual MMO for its time. Let that sink in.
Yeah, this is a server issue. I think many people are anticipating a drop off in population after Naxx, so theyâre all running to the mega servers to level their alts.
no kidding!
GDKP is for supporting RMT.
GDKP is life! Literally 1.5k gold this week just from gdkp runs on two alts.
Nah, GDKP is a great option for gearing new alts in ZG/AQ20. You can pick up a lot of good upgrades for 20g a pop since most people arenât going for the blues/set pieces.
I only play about 4 hours a day on usual. I raid on 2 toons, sometimes 3. All 3 have T2 or better gear. You simply have to put in the effort.

thatâs a lot dude
In classic alts donât mean alternative mains. Theyâre really just alts.
Yeah, TBC is so much more alt-friendly, with requiring reputation grinds just to get into heroic 5mans, and raids requiring a vast complicated web of attunement chains
Sounds like OP hasnât even played TBC.

Itâs been a long time but I donât remember the rep grinds being very hard or time consuming. I had several alts doing heriocs. But I do agree with you about the raid attunement chains
Gearing one toon can require a monumental effort
Only if you want that character in the present tier of gear.
If you donât mind your alts being one tier behind on average, then gearing alts in classic is incredibly easy, especially if your alt is a resto druid or holy paladin.
World buffs or no world buffs, Warriors are a straight up gold sink and huge long term commitment as an alt.
World buffs are also better utilized as pushing someone over the edge too not exactly making up for missing gear.
At the Molten Core level of gear World buffs provide more than the gear excluding the hit you need to use the buffs and the weak gear at the level.
I only play about 4 hours a day on usual.
4 Hours a day = 7 * 4 = 28 Hours a week. Only 2 hours short of the 30 that is considered full time by the ACA/IRS. Thatâs quite a lot.
Gdkp is an effective way to gear alts. You donât need BiS to have a well performing character. All raids are puggable and you can get a lot of upgrades cheap now since no one wants much gear from mc and bwl outside of a few items.
You donât NEED every single one of your level 60 alts to be geared in purples and oranges. Do note that when TBC comes out, assuming they allow existing vanilla characters to progress (they will or these forums will burn down from all the rage), a ton of green and blue gear found in new zones will be as strong as raid gear in vanilla. So the way I see it, thereâs no point in going through all the effort to gear up a bunch of characters in raid gear before TBC Classic goes live. A bunch of pre-bis blues will do just fine.
Gearing one toon can require a monumental effort, as most bosses have huge loot tables along with incredibly poor amount of items dropped.
Thatâs why most people didnât have an alt back then.
Oh we did. Tons. Just that we had ONE character for endgame raiding, not a half dozen.
you were a small portion of players, Most people i know had one 60 and mabye a twink.
But I donât really count twinks.
Or they had a few mid lvl toons or two 60s because they found out they didnât really like the first 60 they made.
