⭐ Classic is Definitely not Vanilla

To be honest that is what a lot of this is. I spent years, whether it was WoW, Rift, 2 versions of Final Fantasy and who know what else trying to get that " feeling " again. You only get it once.

I’ve played WoW a ton of years and I’ve gotten a ton of enjoyment from it, but it wasn’t my first, so I never got that feeling from it.

My first was SWG, and guess what I’m playing again atm? ( Actually leveling survival skill so this thread has been awesome ). Guess what? It’s just like playing any other game I find fun. You can’t get it back.

They also said they weren’t going to do vanilla servers a few years ago, but here we are.

I really wish yall would stop trotting that crap out every time something you don’t like is stated.

Yes they said they weren’t going to do Vanilla servers, but that wasn’t 2 months before Vanilla servers went live and you would be playing that content. Have you seen anything that shows they are going to tune the numbers? No in fact, everything has been them showing that their numbers are correct. If anything they are standing firm on that statement.

I mean think about it. How many times have we seen people say " it’s only beta, they will adjust it" only to see nothing change? Why are so many hoping that Blizzards tendencies are suddenly going to change?

We are still going to try, but they will almost certainly have to learn the hard way with poor sales.

It might be me that is unclear, but I’m not talking about trying to recreate each individuals subjective experience. Needless to say that is mission impossible.

Nor am I trying to recreate my own - since it can’t be done.

I’m only trying to disucss the “what” not the “how” in terms of options that can aid in adding challenge to the game which will affect the games longevity.

I honestly believe that the majority if replies above is comparing apples to pears - no wonder we’re not progressing in the discussion :slight_smile:

Gnomeregan for example is still a nightmare if that one stream Sakaar/Ythisens did is anything to go by.

OP linked no evidence that all boss/mob dmg was nerfed and only brought up 3 mobs in like 5 different instances.

How is pats respawnning at 30min instead of 2 hours making the dungeon more difficult?

Not to mention, you’ve completely ignored Blizzard’s most recent statement:

“That mission has been a pillar of WoW Classic’s design from its inception.”

They’re not going to throw away the testing they’ve done so far to massively change the data of so many creatures, like you’re suggesting. You’re going to have to wait for the same thing I need to wait for if I want Guild Banks and updated Graphics, if it ever happens.
