Classic is boring

Honestly, I just like Classic because I find retail boring.

But doesn’t this post belongs in the Classic forums?

“Technically” yes. But then there are ppl on the Classic forums going on in the same manner about Retail.

post? I didnt make the thread and I cant move the post…so you’llhave to talk to blizzard on that one.

Finding one or the other boring is personal preference.
Getting all bunched up because those of us who DID try classic quite a bit and find it no harder than retail is just silly.

Oh boy, with a statement like that I’m sure more people were convinced to play Classic.

I’m not sure if I’m amused or disappointed by what you chose to say.

whispers go with option B

So is doing a mario speed run for a rng lootbox at the end of the week for 2 years.

having shared tagging of mobs would go a long way in making classic speed up.

Personally speaking I thought I would hate classic. Turns out I really enjoy it. It’s not that it’s ancient mechanics and what not - but the people the core reason we’re playing a mmo in the first place. These are the kind of people you can easily become friends with. They’re down to earth, they haven’t played bfa etc. They stopped playing wow years ago. I miss these people so much and I am so happy to make new friends.

Making money in WoW isn’t just about subscriptions anymore. The cash shop, WoW tokens, and player services makes Blizzard a very large amount of money and just think if 25% of the players that came back for Classic start playing Retail and start dumping their money into those things all the better for overall profits.

Also WoW Retail is a consumer instant gratification game. Want that pretty mount in the cash shop then just throw some money at it. Want to buy mounts and pets from in game vendors, and anything on the auction house then buy some gold using the WoW token system. Want carries for high level Mythic+ and Raids then buy gold with the WoW token system and pay people for them. Want instant success where you never lose then do Island Expeditions and Warfronts. Want instant gear then do a bunch of World Quests.

Viewership on Twitch for WoW is breaking records! WoW is doing great! As long as Blizzard doesn’t pull another BfA WoW has a very good future.

The only thing that really sucks about Classic is that Stormwind is simply full of humans…

with lots of gnomes, elves and a few dwarves around.

On Retail there’s barely a human in sight, it’s mainly void elves, pandas, draenei, and countless other races that have taken over the city…the human population in stormwind is mostly gone…

I got my Gnome Mage to level 15 after about 2-3 hours, well that’s a lie. I don’t think even speed running to 60 you could do that. Took me 4.1 hours on my lock and I knew wtf I was doing.

No one would talk at all. They would just tag and keep moving. If you need help on a Elite than ask and form a group.

Well if it’s boring to people then why the hell do I still have a queue every day? Clearly it’s a very VERY small amount of people.

BfA really blows because of all the bloat necessary to be competitive and the lack of any real pvp and many other reasons, but tbc, wrath, and mists were objectively more fun than vanilla

Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying classic quite a bit, but I really have to disagree with the sentiment that this was the best time in the game’s history. TBC was basically the actual release of the beta that was classic, in my opinion. The only legitimate gripe I see people have is with flying (which I personally enjoy and still ganked a ton with it, but I can understand criticisms)

Getting to 15 in vanilla is like getting to 30 on retail (without dungeons). You’re only 1/4th the way there, and you haven’t really played much of the game.

lol 15 on vanilla, in terms of time, would be more like 50 on retail (with full heirlooms)

I’ve leveled probably a dozen characters in vanilla, here back in the day, and pservers. A lot of the classes can be really boring until you get to 40 and unlock the good stuff. That’s just how the game was designed. You are not a hero. You are a nobody. You start small and feel your character progress through the content. It is very satisfying if you tough it out.

I am playing a mage atm in classic. They power up pretty quickly as you can almost have the full shatter build at level 30. It gets pretty fun with all those crits.

To me classic is all about the socializing. Retail WoW is very anti-social comparatively. In retail you rarely group up for quests or get to know random strangers outside your guild. yes you will meet some but much fewer than classic demands you to. if you don’t socialize in classic you don’t really get to do much.

If you like instant gratification and trophies for everyone, stick with retail. If you want to feel a sense of pride for earning something, classic is where it’s at.

Well my honest view on classic is that getting ganked by mobs while questing makes the questing experience feel like a bit of a downer, however I do like the fact that every level I choose a new talent and every 2 levels I have to see my class trainer, that does add to a strong sense of progression and enjoyment, I don’t quite feel that much pride on retail after a grind.
