Classic Help with Slam

Its been a while but I seem to remember a trick you can do with slam in classic where you cast slam and if you can sync it to the end of a swing you can get a double hit. Where you both get an auto attack off and your slam casts at the same time. Is this false memory? because I cant seem to recreate it on my character in classic.

If there are any tips someone knows for using skills to kill effectively while leveling, I would very much like to hear it.

Thank you

It’s terrible in classic. It was actually good in bc when it was just a 2 pt talent to reduce the cast time by 1 second. But no, just don’t even try in classic.

Didn’t that only work with perfectly timing your swings with a swing timer?

Good luck hitting that button perfectly everytime you need it and not end up losing out on auto-attacks and rage generation! It ain’t easy.

You need a 2 hand weapon and improved slam to really make it sing, but the right talent setup can actually give you more return for your rage than mortal strike. This is particularly notable when raiding, as your MS debuff can be problematic.

I recommend the “Slamfury” talent setup, looks like this: classic. wowhead. com/talent-calc/warrior/02305021352-050530050205102

Also, there’s not really a double swing, but if you start casting right as you swing your auto attack will finish, can confirm as I’m doing this with my current 2hander. Even untalented, slam is better for 2h weapons than heroic strike.

Just need to fit the swing timer between autoattacks correct? No need to try and time it so they hit at the same time.

Casting slam stops auto attacks and resets the swing timer upon finish, so you get more DPS out of timing it to an attack.

You may be thinking of the Indalamar video. He showed how overpowered Warriors were in beta and potentially resulted in nerfs. Slam was one of the things hit.

In the gear at that time, that is an insane clear rate. That didn’t hit retail iirc.

I am able to do what your saying. Sometimes it doesn’t work not sure where I messed up but I’m still working at it. What you have to do is stop your autoattack then slam, when slam turns you auto attack back on turn it off and on again. I have “attack” skill on my bar for this. It seems like half the time it doesn’t work so I’m missing something but I still find it usefull.
