Greetings travelers,
I’m Link from Requiem, the last remaining Horde guild on Grobbulus. We are actively recruiting new and returning players seeking a classic experience that diverges from the typical meta gaming nonsense you will find on the bigger era realms and different iterations of classic. You won’t find any gold buying, boosting, GDKP or class stacking here. Truth be told, we don’t even have any items on our auction house, so there is very little opportunity to buy progress here. We mostly acquire the things we need by working together as a community to provide for each other.
Yes, we know that playing on what most people would call a “dead server” isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. We are not here to sell false hope or make promises we can’t keep to players who are happy with the current state of the game. We are looking for the players who miss the community aspect of the game and those who wish to play the game how it was intended to be played all of those years ago. We promote playing what you love, not what produces the bigger numbers. We are here to work together to overcome challenges, not play a leaderboard mini game on a third-party website.
The current state of the server is that we have about 5 – 6 active players from what I have seen. Every so often some people will join the server, check it out and then promptly leave. I believe this is due to the fact that very few of us actually pay attention to looking for group chat, so newcomers believe they are being ignored. This is something I am personally working to improve, but I can’t be on all of the time. So, it is always best to do a /who and whisper people from our guild!
Our primary goal is to gain enough new members so we can help them level up and start working towards progressing in the PvE and PvP content the game has to offer. It will be a slow start, but those of us who remain here believe we can rebuild and give players a truly special classic experience that would rival anything they have experienced before. We could all progress together as a faction and slowly overcome anything the game can throw at us in a safe, friendly environment free from toxicity and meta gaming influence.
Here are a few of the benefits our small server can offer many types of players:
• Grobbulus Alliance has a thriving community, and they are actively raiding 40-man content. This means that many of their members are out in the open world farming resources for consumables and preparing for raids. If you’re the type of person who loves world PvP, our faction can offer you a target rich environment. Additionally, both the Alliance and Horde are itching to duke it out in organized PvP events, but the Horde needs more players to make this happen.
• As I previously mentioned, we have a pristine economy that is not affected by mass botting, old layering exploits, and the over-farming of instanced content. If you play here, you will be able to afford the things you wish to have without being a gold baron or having to sink countless hours into gold farming just to keep up with the Jones’.
• Roleplay opportunities for those who love this aspect of the game. I personally know of one or two people here who would be thrilled to have more people to roleplay with! I am personally very new to roleplaying, but I am willing to learn and engage with anyone of any skill level who would like to participate! I also hope to be able to organize some fun roleplay events for the Horde. Heck, I would even love to get the Alliance involved for some cross-faction roleplaying fun.
• You will never truly be alone here, even if it can be lonely at times, because we will always be here to watch your back and help you achieve your goals. With our numbers we may not always be able to be there for you, but many of us would be more than happy to move mountains to help out our fellow player. We don’t care if you’re level 1 and just getting started or a level 60 seasoned veteran, we will do our best to be here to support you.
• This is as close to a fresh experience as you can get without Blizzard launching new servers. If even just a handful of people decide to level up on this server, it could provide such a unique and rewarding leveling experience that would rival any fresh launch. Sure, there might not be 5000 players to play with, but does it really matter? Seriously, think about it. For most people leveling up, they only play with at most 5 people at any given time. Sometimes quality provides a much better experience than quantity, and this is one of those times.
This post is an official call to arms! My brothers and sisters of the Horde, the last remaining soldiers on Grobbulus are in need of reinforcements, so we are here raising our banner signaling to those who would be willing to take up arms with us and rebuild what was once a great faction. In our darkest hours we never gave up hope, and we stand before you today as strong as ever, hoping to amass forces and reclaim what is rightfully ours. We understand that this task is not for the timid, so not everyone will heed our call, but we strongly believe that those who would stand with us in our time of need are truly the type of heroes we would love to have fight alongside us.
