That’s because those servers are going to die one day and rather than just merge them all later they “get ahead” of the problem and offer fewer servers with multiple layers from the start.
This has to do with how players behave. We have no one to blame but ourselves. Blizzard builds it with us in mind and this is the best they can do with what they have.

How to fix lotus, if the server leaks at 6 layers, keep it 6 layers at all times. Now we have 6 layers worth of BL, vs 3.
Reality is we have 6 layers populations, but only 3 layer supply.
This is what supply being 50% under demand looks like.
I notice the classes of the people who say… “just don’t buy it”… are all players playing classes where their performance is not dependent on if they flask or not… In fact they are the ones who benefit from their tanks flasking for health… and their Caster DPS flasking for damage.
I’m personally just not buying Flasks at this point.
It’s a lot nicer to do so, but the advantage numerically that a Flask is going to bring any of my own personal numbers or my Raiders numbers is so insignificant when the bosses are all dying in roughly 1 minute in MC anyway.
BWL is going to be a little different where these things will help quite a bit at first, but even then I don’t think it’s going to be entirely necessary.
I’m a lot more worried about the prices moving into AQ & Naxx than anything else, so for now we have no Consumable Requirements and I’m not buying them until either the prices go down one way or another.
Ideally I think the solution is the SoD Revision.

and if the only ones flasking were tanks, price would tank (heh). your mage/lock pew pew parses do not matter. they are a luxury, and if you really want it, you will pay for it.

It would be nice if people would just support a solution to an obvious problem that will just exist if you want to pump… most people are only still playing this game because they just want to pump. Let us pump… but don’t punish people with endless hours of farming a week in order to do it. The people who are all like, it doesn’t matter are not impacted by the problem at all… so why wouldn’t you just support a simple solution?
