What’s with the surge of forum police lately trying to move people out of General Discussion? This thread is doing no harm here. 
They’re just showing their gratitude, it’s fine for all variants of the game.
And I’d like to point out that it’s General discussion, not Retail discussion.

Classic is wonderful, but let’s not forget that “Nostalgia” is a huge driven factor on how the 21 years old game is perceived by the players. Retail is the ultimate compilation of different success from the last 2 decades and it really shows how far and good the game is now. The current version is probably in the best state WoW has ever been and it’s only going to get better exponentially with the addition of Housing ! i cant wait!

Classic in any version has no interest to me until they release Legion Classic, BFA Classic, and Shadowlands Classic

Well, I know I often refer people to Classic. Especially if they are asking for Classic stuff in Retail.
This is 100% appropriate for GD.

I would rather play Shadowlands Classic than any pre legion classic. I had fun in Shadowlands
For QOL absolutely. I guess it depends what version of Shadowlands.
9.0.1 where you couldn’t even mount in the Maw or change covenants without weeks of catch-up, or get your legendary until 4 weeks in because it was on the 4th world boss in the rotation…no thanks. 9.2.5 had alot of fixes and wasn’t nearly as bad. By then the QOL in Shadowlands was vastly improved.
most fun for me in a long time was when SoD was locked at level 25, that phase was epic fun.
Retail is like a solo game. I love my guild, The Devil’s Rejects in Classic. Come join us and check it out!

im just hoping tbc classic stays. playing vanilla 7 million times getting old lol
I enjoyed shadowlands. The dungeons were fun. Nathria was a great raid. It would be fun to see if I could do better now than I did then
There seem to be 2 kinds of players in Classic,
- Tourists who are there for nostalgia. They often quit before reaching level cap.
- Sweat Lords who are trying to relive the old days but this time they are DOING IT RIGHT and will demand others do so too.
