There are some folks who plan on sticking with Classic Era (CE) for the time being. In my case, that’s all I want to play on. But a lot of the servers are so empty that you can’t even get 40 people to raid with. So, let’s get the conversation going about how we can consolidate on our own, and not wait for Blizzard. The primary people this thread is targeting are people who love Classic and don’t want to abandon the hard work they have put into their characters. So while some might want to have the “fresh servers” conversation, I’m not planning on discussing that in this thread.
First off, a few points of information that some people may not know. Correct me if I’m wrong and I’ll update the post.
a. Transfers can ONLY occur WITHIN your region: (NA to NA, Oceanic to Oceanic, etc.) I’ve been advised that you CAN however transfer from NA East to NA West.
b. BE CAREFUL if you transfer from PvP to PvE… from what I understand you can NEVER transfer back to a PvP server.
It might be good to get a “CE Forever” Discord going, because Bliz didn’t make Server/Forum name distinctions between the CE and TBC versions of the same server. /eyeroll. I’m happy to create it if y’all want.
As people respond to this thread, I’ll consolidate the results in the below section so we can get an idea where everyone is, and where everyone might want to be.
Big Question to ask: would it be better to have all PvE server players together on 1 server, or split the group in two: 1 PvE East Coast Server and one PvE West Coast. Same question for PvP server players. I ask this because idk how to weight the important of time zone vs overall population.
For NA:
Farlina seems to be the Highest Population PvP server right now. Any word on the balance between factions?
What’s the highest population PVE server in NA? how is the faction balance?
Sadly, it looks like there is almost no-one on the RP-PvP servers. Is anybody on Gob and Devi still part of a working guild? The good news is, you should be able to transfer to a PvP server.
I know that paying $25 for a transfer kinda stinks. But its worth it to me to be able to play/group/raid/PvP. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I hope to play Classic Era with my kids and grandkids.
Other than the sole PvE RP server, they are already grouped like that. All 5 of the PvE servers in the Eastern Time Zone are connected, for example. Same as having a single merged server, just without having to change names of existing characters. They have the “playername-servername” syntax.
2Z8RvCqE is the Classic Era Cross realm/Cross Faction discord you can use. They take surveys on the players to join to get a rough number on populations per cluster.
I’m on Grobb in the Alliance guild The Last Ones. We are small and are having a guild meeting on July 10th @ 4:30 server time in the Blue Recluse regarding our server/guild status.
Also as I study more on the issue, I believe that this may be the most correct move. We may need global servers. 1 PvE and 1 PvP. Whether Blizzard will assist in that matter or players need to reroll themselves, only time will tell.

Wonderdruid, are you currently on Grobbulus? Rowaine, would love to join the discussion, (if allowed) but I probably wont be on at that time. I’d love to see hear what you guys decide. I’ve seen some of your guildies around stormwind. Let me know if you guys decide to stay or transfer.
I may wait a few weeks, just level professions, etc… and see what becomes of this petition, before paying for a transfer. If nothing comes of it, I’m probably going to transfer to Farlina. If CE makes a resurgence, I can always come back to Grobbulus,
Update on Grobulus:
There are about 10-15 of us on alliance that are having fun together. Some of us raided UBRS this past weekend. Reply if you are on Grobbulus and want a guild!
Also, are there 10-15 Hordies on Grobbulus? If so, we can coordinate some WSG or AB games!
