Something I forgot to mention - I’ve been told more information will be released on the pvp changes once the PTR gets closer. This makes me think the changes are going to be tested in a PTR which leads me to think they’re more than just something inconsequential. A subjective view though I suppose, haha.
We will see but i lean towards sanding in HC, and theyll probably kill pool boosting.
The other thing is what would the current blizzard team mean by “long term health of the game” changes?
I hope they remove decay, but make it hard to gain ranking, taking along time.
Then I hope they release fresh
Perhaps the honor system will reward weekly pvp but it will take a long time to get the gear in such a way that
You can only get rank 7-10 gear in MC BWL patch
You can start getting rank 12 13 gear in AQ patch

If people kept bad things just because that is how it used to be, we would still be using buggy whips.
But if you want new and improved versions of the game with better systems you can just go play retail

Patching a stagnant game is not the same as. New classes, races, dungeons, and abilities. There are systems in the game that are obviously dated. The meta on PvP ranking is to not have a job, join discords with other people ranking, and decide who gets to rank up… WEEEEEEEEE.
Agreed - I would seriously love to hear an update soon though as it will impact greatly where I invest time on my new fresh 60.

I agree that they should change the era pvp system to make it healthier however it’s going to be a double edged sword. Once the slippery slope of changes start, it won’t be long before we end up with another wotlk++++++ situation and players start fleeing back to pservers or quitting. Blizzard can’t help themselves.
Although if they do only just change the pvp system for the better and nothing else on era, I’ll be impressed.
By “long term health of the game”, I suspect you mean, “we are about to make some changes to the PvP system that will cause a mass exodus from Classic as well as cost us more money in Lawyer fees as we try to fight the wave of private servers that pop up”. The Blizzard OODA loop amazes me sometimes.

It’s a shame but I have zero confidence any changes they make will be positive, they’ve managed to fail at every turn so far.

From my POV the current system is pretty terrible - I’d be surprised if they make it worse. Frantically knocks on wood
The AB exalted weapons are insanely difficult to get and now presumably they will be making r14 weapons (which are miles better) easier to get. Going to be weird.
AB gear is dirt easy to get, what do you mean? It’s literally just a matter of time and doing the battleground. You just chip away at it over time and if you were ranking you’re basically guaranteed to hit exalted with all 3 eventually.
Nah AB exalted takes longer than rank 14 does for most people unless you’re only doing AB
You would be able to get exalted with wsg 3 times in the timespan it takes to get exalted in AB
I was exalted with AB long before I hit rank 12 in classic. The rep isn’t hard to get you just play the game. It isn’t even like WSG where if you get stomped on you get nothing, you at least get a bit in every match
I have like 60k hks and im halfway in revered in AB, ive been exalted in wsg since bwl phase in 2019 classic

But i dont go out of my way to take advantage of AB weekends though, i only ranked to 11 during phase 2 of 2019 classic for the mount, the pvp set is actually garbage for ele shaman so i never pushed farther than that, but i have more hks from consistently pvping in premades than most high warlords i see these days cuz i play in tryhard premades often but i never actually push rank.
No idea, I hit exalted with all 3 just as a side effect of ranking to 12. I guess playing with premades a bit helped out.
