Uh… AV is getting old. Been doing it for hours on end for several weeks now, on alliance, and I’d do WSG or AB, or anything else, but AV is where the honor is.
One more week for me!! Then I go gank noobs with my hard earned gear then back to Wrath I go go ICC!
Grats, I’m rank 11 this week, so I’ve got like 2 and a half weeks at this point.
Yeah, it’s interesting seeing the ranker burnout (from some, not all) that I saw often in classic. Even with the changes. I’ve done this so many times before and I know how it is. I don’t think AV being the meta helps with that.
It’s also interesting how I share experiences and people get super salty at me, as if I am trying to take away their toy by sharing the reality - when all of what I share is totally honest observations.
Cant do that anymore. SW now has 20 layers to it and that is not a Vanilla/Classic system. That is a system that came out in Shadowlands. NOT a good feature at all. It prevents me from seeing any of my friends or interreacting with them. SW feels like there is no one in the city sometimes even who /who shows it to be 100% full.
Layering does not belong in Classic. It is a terrible system and should be removed. You want to play this game alone? Then the MMO genre is not for you.
Got way too many anti social people in the game now. People who refuse to get onto voice chat, who refuse to talk in bgs or arenas or dungeons. Blizzard encourages it by constantly isolating everybody.
I agree
Layering actually kills many niche parts of the game like ungoro crater and silithus
Yeah, I get what you mean. I’ve ranted about layers many times in the past.
I couldn’t agree more but I think that’s the general direction people are gravitating towards, solo afk av grinds, layers, gdkp…
I did end up joining a random guild for raiding since I really haven’t had a true guild experience since before the end of classic. It’s actually been quite fun, I don’t really need to raid much but that environment and progressing with a new group of ppl can be pretty fulfilling, as corny as that sounds.
Same for PVP, in classic I made alot of friends from just spam solo queuing with and into the same ppl over and over towards the end of classic and it felt like a really nice community.
It’s not the same in era but I have made a few friends defending bridge in AV, thankfully it’s not hard to find those like minded people
Hell no… what the heck!
That’s true too, and a lot of the things I get passionate about involve trying to preserve the old “vibe” of the game.
Retail deviated from this a long ago. Wrath (classic) has gone too far away from that original direction for me personally too. This is the only version of the game I can really find like-minded people anymore who want to play for the same stuff I do and even that’s not everyone.
Sharding, what layering is based on actually came out in Legion.
The problem with this argument is that it doesn’t take 2 key things into consideration.
- Vanilla WoW was designed for a maximum capacity of 3,000 - 4,000 players online on a server at any given time.
- Servers today have a way larger maximum capacity than Vanilla was ever designed for.
You remove layers, and the prices on literally everything is gong to skyrocket because there isn’t enough to go around. If you want to remove layers, blizzard would need to make a lot more small servers and then not link them together.
You know, if you made that toon a feral druid then you could be mewtwo kinda like the Pokémon but you would just be named after it and then would have a name like a cute little kitty that goes mew, mew Like kittens do.
I was wrong about WSG weekend (for now).
I owe you 5g.
Reading this at 1am gave me a very silly smile, thanks!
I can attest to being asked to join ZG GDKPs several times before era became popular again on whitemane. Even guild 20 man signups would be listed as such.
I stand corrected, I hadn’t seen any alliance side at all, but didn’t consider horde and foolishly assumed it was the same.
Whitemane cluster was alliance-heavy at first and they certainly did GDKPs. In the earliest bits of Era they were the same players on both factions.
