Classic Era change to mob dodge/parry

WoW Classic Era

Melee classes are having their attacks dodged and parried much more frequently in Classic Era since the recent patch to Classic SoD. Raids are still doable, but much less fun for tanks especially, and less fun for melee DPS who aren’t watching a threat meter like a hawk.

A phase 6 full-BiS tank having a single attack land on a trash mob in 25 seconds (with all the rest parried or dodged) is a bit overboard.

Previously it seemed that dodge and parry were calculated using different formulas, and now it seems they’re calculated using a new, single formula.

Was this an unintentional “bleed over” change, or is it going to be like this forever? Asking for a friend who is planning their game subscription budget.

ive played prot warrior and i can agree, im not in full bis nax gear or anything but in SoD version the parry/dodge is happening more then it used to, with the new rune changes and all classes are pumping numbers but as a melee tank, having a shield slam dodge or parried…back to back to back in after gettin devastates to proc sword and board its making it hard to keep threat up, and i get it…they give us taunt and tc to hit 10 targets…but if shield slam doesnt land we dont get the ap boost from our defense to add to the tc to gain a good amount of threat, ive never had mobs or bosses dodge or parry this much before, maybe im doing something wrong but it doesnt feel right to me.

at least back it up with some logs

I can’t speak for SoD, but I am confident they removed the new combined dodge/parry formula from Classic Era since the 29 July release. The numbers now appear to support the original, separate formulas.

Sorry, I didn’t feel the need to post logs from my local testing as I wasn’t trying to prove anything - it was plainly obvious that there was a change. I wanted to simply know if it was intentional or not so I could plan my subscription.

Thank you Blizzard!
