Classic Era Bugs

I am not seeing this posted at all and there are several bugs within Classic Era and SoD to my knowledge. Please fix these as this is seriously game breaking

  • If you die to Nefarian, he will not respawn unless everyone logs out and someone from outside the instance resets it, such as an alt. This is clearly not working as intended and has never been this way. He used to have a 10 minute respawn timer. It was changed where he had no respawn timer before the SoD BWL release, and as a Raid Leader there were several nights we started Nefarian right after a wipe without waiting 10 minutes. He would already be on his throne. Me and my Guild have been progging Raids for almost a year now, and now this is effecting everyones night, and not just my Guild’s either. Now you can wait for hours, like I did, with the game clearly not working as intended and Nefarian never coming back. This was so disheartening and frusturating to have to go through

  • AQ20 is bugged. Ahn’Qiraj isnt even released in SoD, yet changes have still been publicly made to this Raid that are unfaithful to the original. Ossirian is at the bottom of the stairs, and the usual Crystal skip that a majority of the community performs is now inaccessible unless you have a Warlock’s Eye of Kilrogg and do the pull completely differently. Again, this is an adaptation for something that is clearly broken, not working, and shouldnt even exist. Even attempting the Crystal Strategy normally is difficult since the Boss stands RIGHT INFRONT of it, and not at the top of the stairs where his initial spawn point should be. Most people are just SKIPPING the content now… He is also one of the hardest hitting bosses in the game who now stands right infront of his sole mechanic…

  • The Classic Guild UI is changed and not faithful to Classic WoW’s. I understand this is a change on Blizzard’s end to try and get everything on 1 universal language or API, however there have been consistent leaks or breaches that are not filling the players with confidence about this decision at all. SoD content has been confirmed in Classic Era and disabled… you are BOUND to have problems with this and we already have before.

  • Season of Discovery Stormrend, Druid Polearms, No Logout Skips, and other changes such as non dispellable world buffs, dismounting on boats, and more were changed. This is not faithful to Classic WoW. Most of this was reverted after being publicly stated they were intentional, even though the Community knew otherwise. This is very confusing as it highlights an obvious disconnect between the business and the consumer. If these were changes we wanted why did you revert them? No one asked for these changes, regardless of if people think they were good or bad after the fact. This changes the very foundation and integrity of what Classic Era stands for. The biggest insult is you didnt even ask us, or listen to us even when we do speak. You think you know, but you dont

  • The implementation of a shared Code and Platform is a good idea if it can be executed properly and both sides can operate independently. I can say with confidence that is not the case and it will be so difficult for the remaining people to find these issues, and remedy them if they even get the time to do so, that it might not ever be addressed. This is so heartbreaking as a fan who feels like the punches wont stop. It feels like some of them are even intentional

Its so disappointing to me to watch the time, effort, the love and community for this game that everyone is putting in and keeping alive get blatantly ignored and disrespected. The game is broken. It needs to be fixed. It is not working as intended. You can lose money off of this, and probably have, and will continue to do so until action is taken. Isnt the point of selling a product to keep people buying it? I dont know what language to speak for the developers to take us seriously. Ignoring your customer base is a sure way to keep the hemorraging alive and doubts of future prospects thriving. You cant even copy paste a 20 year old game and stop touching it correctly? You had all the Code at one point. It was even provided to you. You can even ASK the people that provided it to you again if you lost it or messed it up! Have the 2 different codes checked for inconsistencies. There are so many options that doing nothing is unacceptable… but this only serves to create more distance and animosity between the seller and buyer
We should be on the same team. Eager to create, and eager to devour the content

Please help Classic Era. Let us stand alone, free from the influences of a seasonal game mode. If you are walking on egg shells to not break Classic Era, wouldnt separating the two give you complete creative freedom inside of SoD to change things? Isnt that what the players, and the developers want? Its a testing ground, but not everyone wants to be a tester, or should be testing. Forcing people to test is bad business design and only invites negative reactions. People should naturally want to try new things with their own curiosity not forced into trying to enjoy it

Where does all these new additions go when SoD is finished next year? They are now a part of this game forever? What about when the next Season is released? Are we going to keep paving over previous coding time and time again?

Please. Consider your community here. Your faithful, loyal, community. This directly impacts and effects the developers time, focus, and money making potential fixing things they shouldnt be. I dont even think Blizzard know whats happening in Classic Era anymore. If they played Era I am sure this bug, and this post, would be irrelevant. From what I have read Cataclysm Classic is also suffering from bugs. Hardcore World of Warcraft suffers the same bugs that Classic Era does. How many things have to break before something gets fixed??? A bug killing someone on Hardcore is IRREVERSIBLE!!! That straight up ruins the entire experience in my opinion. No one was ever happy they died to a DC. Why would they be happy they died to a change in how the game operates?

All Classic Era needs is to be separate. No changes would effect the Era or Hardcore Realms, as it should be. What happens when the SoD developers touch AQ40? Or Naxx??? Is another boss going to be in the wrong spot? Maybe there are new adds, or new transitions that dont work anymore? More Rune leaks, more Item leaks, and people will flip out if you break Naxx. I sincerely hope the developers take this as seriously of an issue as their fans are

Microsoft: here is an example of a passionate customer who pours his heart and soul into Classic Era. He’s an outstanding guild leader and raid leader, he’s directly responsible for at least some of your customers continuing to play your game despite the issues he has mentioned above.

I know that I don’t have to tell you that these impacts on the game are real, “changes” are manifesting themselves all over the Classic Era game. What I have noticed myself, beyond what Falcs mentions about, is mob aggro has very much changed. In places where I regularly farm, such as Winterspring in the dragonkin caves, the distance I have to maintain between my character and the mobs has changed. I get swarmed now when I didn’t used to or aggro the big dragons from positions that used to be “safe”.

The changes are frustrating and annoying, especially when raid bosses start acting in strange ways. People spend a LOT of time preparing for and organizing 40 person raids, only to have strange things happen up to and including raid wipes that should never happen and Nef despawning and not returning as described above.

Up to 40 people are impacted every time this happens. The consumes prepared and lost, and world buffs carefully collected and lost, represent our TIME, which, frankly, you are wasting. We love Classic Era, but we won’t be here forever if these problems are not addressed.

Thank you for your consideration. By the way I started playing WoW when original TBC dropped, and Classic Era since 2019 on launch day. I kept 4 60s in Era. I want to be here, I want to keep playing Classic Era. However, my desire is dampened by all of the above.

I have experienced a lot of what Falcons has stated whilst playing WoW Classic Era, and I concur fully. The game (Classic Era) is not working as intended.

When I raised a ticket regarding Nefarian not respawning, I received an automated response suggesting I restart my computer and/ or reinstall the game. And if that didn’t work, the hyperlink provided went to a page that no longer exists.

Errrm…. Hallo customer support?

If that’s the kind of response I can expect for raising a ticket – why on earth am I paying a subscription?

This is almost definitely a breach of consumers’ rights and one I am considering taking up with Paypal. I may pay for “game time”, but if “the game” is not working as intended or not fit for purpose, then I’d wager my grandmother’s false teeth that any person experiencing these bugs or glitches are entitled to their subscription money back; and for however many months where the game’s faults continue to persist.

But let me be clear. No one really wants to do that. They just want to play a game they know and love.

It would be admirable if the developers could show the same, and not give us the silent treatment we are all so used to.

I’m sure there is enough funds in the Blizzard pool to possibly separate the “Classic Era” servers from the SoD servers. This could potentially solve the bug issues that have been cropping up as changes are made and updates are implemented. Classic should be one of the easiest game servers to keep bug-free I would think due to small changes ever being made. I hope the bugs that have been cropping up get addressed quickly with maintenance this week. Can be frustrating - especially in a group setting - to all of a sudden not be able to continue with what you were doing due to game mechanics not working as intended.

Side note - get those BC servers up!
