I wanted to give some insight into the server in the event anyone is looking for an era home and either RP or a small community may appeal to you.
Horde side is quiet…too quiet. There are a few small guilds, the one guild growing Marooned Too is actually from Alliance mains on the server. Dungeons almost never happen, 0 raiding, just quiet leveling with some nice folks. There is one guild from former days Whisper that still exists and does some dungeon content but is known for having a few toxic players.
Alliance is a different story. There are 3 main guilds here:
- Marooned The largest guild on the server and the ones who rebuilt the community. Raiding since Dec 2023, this group has cleared ZG, AQ 20, MC, Onyxia, Azuregoes and Kazzak. Raiding here is different: never more than 30, meme specs haven’t been turned away, no stacking warriors (just don’t have many), new-to-WoW players welcome, and just casually figuring it out. We’ve enjoyed the slow and meaningful progression where dungeon gear and professions matter, you can’t nuke fights but have to be mindful of mechanics and conserving mana, and it feels more like Classic as it was intended and not min-maxed to oblivion. We intend to move into BWL as soon as we have a proper composition of 30 on our Friday raid night. Server is East Coast but we raid late to accommodate the players from the West, usually starting just before 10pm server. Tues at 7pm there is usually Onyxia and AQ 20, Sundays at 3 are usually ZG.
Marooned is also known for being very helpful, those who level here get dungeon runs and gifts in the mail. The guild is also home to some HC players, altoholics, and internationals who mostly play solo because of the time difference. The guild chat & Discord are generally clean in respect of others, politics generally not discussed, and people share about their lives so we’ve gotten to know one another. The vibe is relaxed with lots of alts leveled while also investing in progression. Loot is a mix of Loot Council and mostly free rolled unless its new progression. Typical things like MS > OS, Mains > Alts, where it helps the guild the most, etc, all play a part. People have found the loot to be fair and theres plenty to go around.

Ebonheart Covenant This is the RP guild. They are very active and growing, Thursday night is their weekly RP session. It’s a very friendly bunch that is also very helpful and community focused. The RP is legit, and they’ve helped Marooned with an ongoing LoTR RP dungeon event we’ve been doing (msg me for info on that).

Chill Crew A small guild, they’re chill and they’re good. Home to some very experienced players, they run some dungeons, join in the Marooned raids, and are a helpful bunch. Their Discord is a lot of cat pics.
The other guilds are very small, like 1-10 players, mostly remnants of long ago and generally not active except a small group of friends in Pain and Glory. Hi Paynifier & friends.
All 3 guilds have players in the other guilds so being kind is essentially or you’ll be isolated. If you want to play what feels like the Classic Azeroth experience, with pleasant people, you’ll love it here. The server attracts a generally older, more relaxed bunch with a few oddballs (usually the Paladins). There is a lot of help to face the challenges that exist here. You won’t regularly find lowbie dungeons and the AH isn’t good. Most people just give guildies gear and supplies if they’re kind and helpful themselves. We’ve regularly seen people level here and try to take advantage of players, expecting runs and handouts, then transfer off to Mankrik. In Marooned for example, new players get a gift/s from the GM for their accomplishment. It’s been hard to see people take stuff and jet, but we’ve kept the generous spirit here and the community, though small, is thriving.
We are constantly growing. Summers are slow with reduced raiding (Friday there is still always raiding). There is a committed core here and we welcome people to come and play all classes and all specs. If you really want to be a boomkin you can…we have 2 in our raid of 20-25 people already. You won’t be prioritized for gear (over classes that do considerably better in classic simply for the sake of progression) but you’d be welcomed, helped along the way, and gear up quickly nonetheless.
I recommend starting a character and doing /who. Talk to someone online about their experience or ask questions. Appreciate anyone who read this whole explanation/rant. We love it here and hope to see a few more join us, for BWL and beyond, but also into the great community.
