So im trying to get my older expansion engineering up for some transmog options, but some of the ones im wanting to make is locked behind Gnomish/Goblin engineering, but the trainer in Orgrimmar only offers Cataclysm engineering.
I haven’t been able to find information about it from Wowhead or through Google so is there anyway to learn Classic Engineering Schematics?
you learn it in gadgetzan in tanaris i think.
Gnomish/Goblin Engineering is learned from a quest. The trainer in Orgrimmar should offer you this quest when you reach 200 in classic engineering.
went and checked just to make sure, he’s also only giving me Cata engineering

Scroll through the instructor’s offer carefully. Below Cata is Classic. The same thing happened to me and I was turned for hours.

In case someone comes in to consult and searches for another profession: they are all like that. The capital city instructor teaches Cata and Classic, but you have to scroll to see Classic. And there isn’t even a line or anything that separates them. A little confusing.
When you reach 200 Classic Engineering skill points, enable “minor quests” and head to Ratchet to see Tinkerwiz. He will give you the quest in which you choose 1 of the 2 specializations.
It’s a shame one cannot be proficient in both schools
I pick up teleports where I can and it’d be nice to add the goblin ones to the collection
I wanted to be able to make mounts that are either goblin or gnomish. In Pandaria Remix I created a goblin, made her learn engineering and now I have both schools. And 2 golems per month. Things left over from the times of strict alliance/horde differentiation.
They merged Classic and Cata back when the world changed. This is true for ALL professions. You will need to scroll down the list to see the Classic recipes at the bottom.

In your Engineering book under Classic, scroll down to the unlearned recipes and click on it to find out where you can learn it from.
you learn the training from the same guy in Orgrimmar but once you’re in your profession window, you have to click the drop-down at the top that says cataclysm and change it to classic. I have engineering on all of my characters and it’s annoying because whenever you’re talking to the trainer, it automatically changes back to cataclysm. So you have to go back into the professionals window click on cataclysm at the top and under that drop down select classic and then it will show you all of the classic recipes on the left-hand side.
