I imagine the 4 non-DF dungeons have already been chosen for season 2, but going forward can we get 1-2 classic dungeons in the M+ rotation instead of just xpacs.

Unlikely, the dungeon would have to be completely re-done from the ground up mob and boss wise.
So you want trash and bosses with a single mechanic?

I mean the Cata version, sure. The old one? I couldn’t even tell bosses from trash mobs until Vancleef.
deadmines is doable due to the rebuild in Mists, Same with scarlet thingo

I think they’d have to completely redo the dungeons. Iirc the bosses don’t really do anything in classic dungeons.
I was kinda thinking some of the SM wings… they have always been my favorite.
Deadmines overhaul was Cata, along SFK. Mists overhauled Scholomance and the Scarlet dungeons yeah.
There’s classic now if you want to experience that again. On retail their design is way too antiquated to mesh well with the modern class design.
I’m not advocating to go back to the original build then make that Mythic+. All of the dungeons have been redesigned to fit better or to shorten them (Mara/Strat/Deadmines, etc.). I would say use those versions.
Also, I’m just saying 1-2 in a season not a season of all classics.
No. I want them to use these:
- Siege of Niuzao Temple
- Assault on Violet Hold
- Seat of the Triumvirate (I actually like this, but I see zero chance blizzard could tune it to be playable in the foreseeable future)
- Shadowmoon Burial Grounds again (after CoS, why not?) or Skyreach without nerfs
These are in line with their pattern of 2 legion 1 wod 1 mario dungeon. I mean if we want it to be bad, lets go with full force then.
Classic dungeons are always long AF how you gonna fit that into a 35 min timer ?
Then its cata dungeons you want not classic ones.
Not sure if they can without putting a lot of work as some are still very long.
The reason we only see dungeons going as far back as MoP so far was because while M+ didn’t exist back in MoP/WoD, Challenge Modes did and that system is the ancestor of M+. So these dungeon’s design still fundamentally work for M+.
100% would love this, just for nostalgia’s sake.
Give me the Original SFK without the Cataclysm stuff, or Wailing Caverns.
I don’t care about the mechanics- I just want a reason to go back and clear it as current content.
Make it a new path called Timewalking Mythic or something, and they can rotate regularly.
Like Trading Post, use it to give out old rewards.
All four of the wings in SM are short by themselves. I would say just have 1 of the wings as a M+. That should be a 20-25min run.

they should stick to dungeons that were built for m+. so legion onwards
Even if they added mechanics to bring up the difficulty:
RFC - too short
Stockades - too short
Deadmines - fine with rework, but again?
WC - with rework still not great. Lots of poison so big healer preference here for dispels.
BFD - ehhh maybe? Swimming with a timer seems unfun.
SFK - the redo, sure. It’s about right in length and mob density. Mechanic load is okay. Halls would feel like trash on some weeks though. It’s a tight dungeon.
SM - all are Too short. Maybe cath?
RFK - sure, I think it’s good.
RFD - sure, I think it’s good.
Gnomer - yeah maybe, but so much skipable trash would make routing a nightmare.
ULD - we just got a rehash that’s part of s2
ZF - maybe? I can’t see it personally. Mobs that flee being the biggest threat in here would make certain classes highly desirable (dks, druids, frost mage, hunter). Open concepts are fun though.
Mara - maybe, I have to think on it.
BRD - hard pass, even if we broke it up to 2 dungeons. The back half would be atrocious.
UBRS/LBRS - maybe, but they can be kinda long as is. So mob density would have to be adjusted along with respawn points.
DM - too big. Even if it was broken up it’s kind of confusing? Some mechanics would have to change (thorns…).
Sure I’m missing some dungeons, but there are just a handful I would like to see be added in.
