After playing the Classic Demo for about 30 minutes I exited and refuse to play the demo OR Classic when it releases. It's like playing a game from the late 90s or early 2000s mechanically. It would be like going back to the original Everquest or Runescape. Yes, it's for some people, but not me.
What it did was make me appreciate Retail so much more. Just the convenience of having the chauffeur mount on my low level alts is HUGE. Not to mention the easier/faster/streamlined leveling approach and so many quality of life improvements. If anything, Classic highlights the good things about Retail.
what did he mean by this?

Cool.
OP likes his hand held.

I mean, you're a LFR hero - so it makes sense. You're a product of streamlined games. Number crunching and getting into the nitty gritty of mechanics is probably inconvenient for you.
You also have no desire to play games like EVE or Path of Exile. Your dopamine release in games happens in rapid 15 minute intervals.

maybe a combined sub isn't the best of ideas after all ?

Oh sod off. At least it's giving people a chance to try the game without actually wasting their money on a second sub they won't be paying. I'm actually okay with this.
@OP, no idea if you're serious or not, but if you are, thanks for trying it out at least. Enjoy Modern WoW.
I, on the other hand will only dabble in Modern WoW and be playing Classic a lot more.
Tbh I'm not interested in classic very much either. I dread the days sitting in stormwind for hours waiting for a tank/healer for them to just disconnect or have to log off 1/4 through the dungeon. Or the fact there wasnt enough gear that dropped in a 40 man raid. Good luck playing the spec you want in raids or dealing with the most imbalanced pvp ever. Yes there will be nostialga but people just dont have enough time to sink into wow classic to be competitive.
I am also not oblivious to the good things wow classic delivered that faded away over time either. Leveling was fun and felt progressive especially with class quests giving you a identity. The server you played on actually mattered, there was no lfr or flying mounts.
I just remember classic and people will soon realize how spoiled we are with retail.

Bolded part is all you really needed to say, which is also a perfectly valid and irrefutable statement to make.
I missed being able to assign my bags so that one is just for trade goods.
That's about all I miss.

This guy is specifically why EA still sells games that have no new content, no campaigns and is filled with loot boxes.
This guy is specifically why Valve doesn't make games anymore.
This guy is specifically why Ubisoft makes games that look pretty but are filled to the brim with bugs.
This guy specifically is why it took 5 years to release a new game for Rockstar after GTA 5.
Because selling you ways to enjoy a product for as long as possible and make it as instantly rewarding as possible sells. It sells to kids especially and those are the ones who can get their parents to buy buy buy. "But if I pay 4.99 for that blizz pet I'll be able to battle more people!!!" "Ok Honey, here's my credit card."
"But mommy I know you said I cant talk to people in the game yet but I'm only doing LFR!!" "Fine I guess you don't have to talk to people to do that."
"But mommy I want that new plane in GTA5!"
"Wait I played GTA in high school, how are you still playing that??"
Cheaper to make a 3D Model and sell that to you than a new game.
Just like it's cheaper to do a !@#$ty job with 6 people on the dev team to resell a game they already sold to get people back in than undo all the garbage they did to retail or make a good expansion.

That is exactly how I feel, but opposite. I will be playing both games but most likely more modern wow than classic.
cool story bro, why don't you post about it on your blog?

Dude live happy in retail... classics not for you
I hope those that can enjoy Classic will continue to do so.
