Classic + could be anything

Is anyone else interested vanilla WoW but with modern character models, transmog, retuned & harder raids and TBC talent trees?

With all the talk of Classic plus lately it’s made me think that’s it doesn’t have to be any one thing, it’s a chance for Blizzard experiment, try new things and see what people respond to.

Is anyone else interested in seeing hybrids of vanilla WoW in the future? and if so what?

That just sounds like retail with extra steps.

I imagine a realistic classic+ would be adding the cut content of classic WoW, in the classic WoW graphics and gameplay.

Classic mythic+

Don’t you think Blizzards hesitation with all things classic though is adding “new” content/lore outside of retail? I kinda think thats a concern for them.

The selling point to classic for me is the challange, simplicity and how rewarding it feels. I think using classic plus to explore tweaks to vanilla WoW is a good opportunity

I think if Classic+ had a very high chance of attracting new/returning subscribers, there’d be enough revenue to make two dedicated teams. If that’s the case, Blizz should do a legitimate focus study with a 3rd party research group (not a forum poll where players can vote multiple times on different forum alts) to determine what Classic players want, what subset of that aligns with Blizzard’s goals and values for Classic, and then come up with a plan to implement those new things that players want and Blizz thinks would be good for business.

Without that new revenue influx, the idea of spreading the existing dev team further over Retail and all the Classic variants seems like a recipe for disaster; it will just suck for players of both old-school and the newness. Classic is easy–just take existing code and tweak it for modern servers. Developing new features unique to Classic takes significantly more effort, unless it’s a copy-and-paste from Retail, but even then it may have unexpected bugs because Classic is not Retail and lifting code isn’t guarantied to work without some debugging effort.

Not to mention it’s no longer “Classic” if significant changes are made from what it was originally. That would be a deviant branch in the timeline that should be pruned (or properly funded, whichever).

Kind of not really vanilla wow, though, isn’t it

Nope, it would be Classic plus. we already got Vanilla WoW, in 2004 and again in 2019

You can’t ask for anything, or speculate without a barrage of nay-sayers and negative Nancie’s tearing it all down.

I made a post about potential 11.0 leaks and most people in the thread were just dismissive, with folks saying it’s “proven fake” with nothing actually shown to point it was disproven.

No one is excited.

WoW community is just, unimaginative and frankly depressing to engage with.

At least the forums are.

There is a disturbingly large amount of the player base that doesnt seem to enjoy the game anymore but cant seem to let it go

Honestly, I’m just gonna leave the forums.

The folks here are a lost cause, and will regularly engage with trolls.

Too many trolls crop up and are impossible to stomp out.

I love a lot of the regular posters, but there’s no redemption here lol.

I hope they also move on for their mental wellbeing.

It could be anything. Like made up?

Yes let’s make even more versions of the game and totally make sure the version I prefer is the one no one I know is playing. Oh wait . . .

yes lol, what is so offensive about taking the best things from different times in WoWs history and trying them together?

I have nothing against it. People keep bringing it up like it’s already been confirmed

They did season of mastery and it failed hard.

Can they change the name? None of them are truly “Classic” anymore.
