What do you plan on doing if you move on to BC content, copy characters onto BC servers or force us into BC on Classic realms?
Blizz has done nothing but cater to the streamers. The streamers cried that they finished all the content(im sorry you get money to sit on wow 8-16hrs a day and finished the current content at 10x the speed of a regular person who holds a regular job and plays wow on a regular basis)Now they have released DM early to appease these guys so that their views wouldn’t drop. And the rest of everyone gets screwed. on top of this Honor is still not implemented and don’t give me this crap about the gear being to good to put in the game this early. To get that gear you needed Exalted with the PVP factions Witch literally took forever and Congrats to the people who achieved that here you go get that tilted gear Good Job. This is not something blizzard agrees with because most of the playerbase just wants to spam Blizzard and get easy rewards. Blizz only cares about the PVE PVP players get shafted always. Getting warlord status was supposed to give you gear that makes you stronger then everyone because your the Mofo WIth WARLORD like omg its the warlord that guy will roll me cuz he put the effort in to get somewhere you only get to by working for it and the reward justified the effort put in. Give us PVP Blizz you’ve been screwing the pooch on this from day one and a lot of people sick and tired of the tardiness.
I’m so confused by what is happening in Classic. Why is Dire Maul already out? Why are people killing Rag the week they turn 60? What happened to weeks or more of farming resist gear and raid gear? What happened to only downing a new boss every couple of weeks? What is this? I’m only still in my 20s leveling, b/c I wanted to take it slow…like I did in vanilla. I feel like this isn’t true classic…it’s the watered down version for people who want to rush and stream. The lack of needing resist gear is REALLY bugging me though…b/c such a big part of vanilla was farming all that stuff!
All i see here is Blah Blah Blah im a casual blah blah blah i cant level fast enough blah blah blah stop releasing content. blah blah im a little girl blah blah
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! RELEASE BURNING CRUSADE!!!
Now with Classic back, I finally figured out why my interest in WoW had waned over the years. As a casual player that doesn’t put raiding or gear at the top priority level, (though I did rock 25 mans with my holy pally for a good amount of time - SSC anyone??) I did love seeing new expansions come out, but I think it became too much for me. And while some changes were almost necessary, and even perfect, I felt like every time I turned around, I had to relearn how to most effectively play my toons and strive to once again get all my high levels geared out, respecced, leveled up, etc. At some point, I lost interest in the battle and it was just too overwhelming for me.
I started playing 10/12/06, just a short enough time ahead of BC to be ready for it when it launched. My fondest WoW memories are Classic and BC, and to a certain extent WotLK.
My son convinced me to dive back in and download Classic and I am almost as hooked as I was back in 2006. The only thing that could make this better is if Burning Crusade came along and completed the Classic WoW experience. I suspect a lot of people might feel the same way since BC was really in play at the height of Warcrafts popularity, and BEFORE all the expansions to follow, good or bad.
And I’m not trying to say right now! Just eventually it would be awesome… I know! I know! Where does it end? That’s a good question, and maybe Blizzard will deem that it just has to end at Classic. If so, it is what it is. At least we will have still had this throwback to a literal classic of its time.
Please do not re-release BC. It would destroy Classic.
Part of the playerbase would leave to go to the BC servers. Part would stay, and the end result would be devastated populations on all servers. While BC had a lot of great content, it also started down the path of mistakes - stat explosions, flying mounts, etc.
What I’d like to see is new content in the style of Classic. There’s no reason they can’t revamp these dungeons and release in a form that works for Classic. Not to mention, there was a ton of content planned for Vanilla that never got made before release. Uldum, Kara, Emerald Dream… so many I can’t remember them all.
I for one would love to see these dungeons.
We don’t need a raised level cap or a wipe of people’s progress. Look at DM, for example - it provides a lot of gear that’s comparable or even better than some MC gear. Same with crafted gear, etc.
You can release new content that allows people who weren’t geared up yet to quickly get competitive enough to see the new raids without destroying what made Classic into Classic.
All i see here is a person who defines their life by what level they are or gear they wear on an online game.
I get what you’re saying. My suggestion was to make it part of the Classic experience. Not diff servers. I KNOW there’s a ton of content on Classic, but realistically, how long will all that hold before people want to move on to BC anyway? I didn’t mean NOW. Just at some point in the future? Couple years? — I DO like the idea of new content in the style of Classic. I guess that could be an acceptable alternative.
Absolutely agree with the devastated player bases. That was another thing I hated. Logging in and seeing SW all but empty, or realizing every player I was looking at was on a different server. Definitely don’t want to see that happening again.
Just my personal wish
I just want to enjoy Classic for what it is and I don’t care what happens 2 years down the road. It’s too early to be talking about BC or Classic+ You think Blizzard isn’t making plans for how this goes? You think they are going to read your forum post and go ‘ah ha, BC!! Why didn’t we think of that?’
Seriously, just enjoy the game, or don’t and let the future be in the future.
not even sure if anyone is gonna care, but here is my experience.
me and my 2 buddies and my wife all started playing the day Classic was out. we play fairly often as early 30 year-old young professionals, like 20 hours per week. So here is where we are at:
me and my wife, level 39, with most of our trade skill at 200 something, fishing, cooking, and two main skills altogether. we had fun leveling those things, tons of fun.
my two buddies, who don’t care about trade skills that much, are both level 40+.
as now, no one has the official statistics, just based on what we are doing, is it fair to say, that the majority is still at their level 40-50?
so yeah, I personally feel that DM is out too early. and please, blizzard, you need to slow the f*k down.
Absolutely not. Here’s a bunch of scans I did 9 days ago:
Thank you for making the game great again. I hope any further expansions follow the same model.
Since Cataclysm, we’ve been hoping the game designers would turn back towards Vanilla and BC styles of game play in their expansions. Better late than never.
ok. lets assume this data is somewhat close to reality ( which is really a bold assumption if you ask.)
i visited their site, wowclassicpopulation dot com and checked out some of the servers. turns out that Herod is just … filled with pro-level players. 60lvl players is at more than 40% of the population while a lot of other servers has far less. The data shows my server Kurinaxx, has 16% level 60 player. I also checked out the average of ALL realms, the number is still 16%.
And, given that you need to download the addon to collect data, and it is safe to assume the more hard core, the more dedicated the players are, they more likely they are going to use addons, the data collected are very likely represent the world in the eyes of a high level player. technically.
so, to sum up, on average, there is only ~15% of the population is at level 60.
Thank you for doing that work. I objected to this particular advancement a little less when I found out paladins and warlocks needed it for their class mounts, but I hope generally the phases won’t be rushed through for the sake of 5% of players.
It is watered down. 1.13 was the biggest nerf to end game content because people were still struggling to clear MC/BWL while other guilds were pushing through AQ and Naxx. There was a ton of bugs. Blizzard rolled out 1.13 so people could progress easier and more smoothly before BC came out.
I play classic whenever I am not driving my kids to places. Yet I am still only level 46 right now. I cannot imagine how I am supposed to do quests in a week when my PvP server becomes a killing field. Maybe I have to do exclusively dungeon leveling. Sigh.
I can’t remember if the original expansions become a selectable like classic vs current full wow. Could you refresh my memory on this?
Also I just pointed out someone that very old bug on pets/minions. You know the one that on their character tab it doesn’t show scalable bonus. I can’t remember if we fixed that ever. It was fixed by the A26 version we did for something. But that is a long way off. These people finally do have computers in their everyday lives but many can’t afford a $2,000-$5,000 system. Part of why this came out again. Though we did fix the prepaid VISA problems.(heh yea that Dove…) Not active in that anymore. Though real life PVP sometimes !@# more than a Pat Benatar song.(Slyvanus thinks so… before NPC’s though officers are quite the characters… hence my PVP-RP trolls and bull…)
I was on orig dev up to the D-Wave(Snowflake & Ice. How Blizzard got it’s name) migration I think it was. I was in a crash in the 70s so my memory is foggy. Though I did laugh when I saw the one commercial on something that had the people chasing the holographic WoW post VR WoW.(which is of course why they are supposed to have a 2-6G video card with i5/i7) Though the other uses the portable weapons and character thing. Funny how it was in a commercial before they announced that version here. But then again I found in one of the old databases a character I had in 69 and laughed though that theft caused a shutdown around then. Since most general public weren’t using it and only officers were(R&D, & Specialty unit Navy/AF. We love dem minty tic tacs and regular doesn’t get the mints oops maybe now on Nimitz nuts. Lenard Nimitz - Rock, Paper , Scissors , Lizard, Spock). But that’s very old news/stories that most young people wouldn’t have a clue about.
So anyways back on track… dis old mind a wonder’n… Will you be having the expansion buttons like classic launch button on battle.net app and did we ever get to fixing that pet stat window?
Im also on Kurinaxx and its definitely way more than 16% that are level 60.
I have around 18 days of played time = 42 hours a week… And I am saying this is too soon Blizzard, too damn soon! Slow down your phases…
Also please change the PVP honor/cap system a bit, especially if phases are going to be this short. Might as well change it considering we are going to be starting with cross-realm pvp in phase 3 anyways.
Same here
Average age of a wow player in 05’ was 28.
I had just finished college back then. Now I have 3 kids, house, business, etc. so I’m only at 51 with my main also.
